Gov Hochul is considering removing Eric Adams from office.

No specific reasons cited of course, just “alleged conduct”.

They hate him because he is removing the illegals from the city and making it safer, and this is against the church dogma of the Democrat State Religion.

But, for all this time, Gov. Hochum (yes; it’s an altered last letter) hasn’t lifted her dopey finger about the Mayor’s alleged behavior, now that he’s off the hook, she is motivated to considering removing him from office?

Why? Because he is moving away from the sanctuary city crap in NYC? Isn’t removing him (to undermine the Trump decision) also purely political?

Correct.... I don't know about the mayor bossing the Governor around but there's no way she can just terminate him as an elected official. They would have to bring charges against him and get him convicted of something and possibly even jailed before they could replace him... and at this point that would be very risky for them to try.
It would certainly look like Lawfare.

The only time I saw a mayor removed was here in Massachusetts in Lawrence after a long court case and several very serious felony allegations that proved to be true. The guy was literally selling drugs in his own City and even then it was tough to remove him.

So what she'll probably do according to the link below is suspend him for 30 days because the New York State charter gives her the right to do that. At that point she has to state in a hearing why he's suspended. We all know that it's just a battle against ICE and holding this type of a hearing will probably make the statewide government very unpopular. Let's see if she has the balls to do it and if she may actually incur some charges herself for false accusations..
