A registered nurse in Virginia was arrested after several NICU babies were found with mysterious injuries and bone fractures, according to authorities.

Erin Elizabeth Ann Strotman, 26, has been charged with malicious wounding, child abuse and neglect.

Around the end of November 2024, staff members discovered that three babies at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital NICU had unexplainable fractures, similar to an incident involving four babies in the summer of 2023, the hospital said in a post on their website.

Henrico Police confirm that Strotman’s charges stem from the Nov. 2024 investigation.

Erin Strotman, the Henrico County nurse who abused nine premature babies over multiple years, will likely be sentenced to no more than three years in prison, per the terms of her plea agreement.

One of Strotman’s victims weighed only 11 ounces at birth, the board said.

The judge who presides over Strotman’s sentencing, which is scheduled for June 5, will have the final say on the length and nature of her sentence. Taylor said that, during this hearing, she hopes that all nine families will be able to testify as to how Strotman’s abuse impacted them.
