This is a glaring illustration about the ineptitude of government and the resourcefulness and effectiveness of individuals operating under freedom. The people funding all of this have done so of their own free will and Glenn Beck has been the man to lead the effort and create the foundation - again, of his own free will.

Some more good news from The Nazarene Fund and Mercury One as I announced we are soon nearing 2,000 people saved from ISIS. Because of YOUR help we have ALSO closed down an entire refugee camp and moved all of the families way north in new housing. This is the first time these families have had a home, private toilet or kitchen in over two years. This group did not want to leave the country as they felt they would be leaving the region without the light of Christ. We now have five countries that are taking our Christian and other religious minorities into their countries.

This part of the story is even better than the previous story...

We got a high-risk family out and they are safe and in a Mercury safe-house for the night. The family included five girls who were going to be sold into slavery and the men were marked for death. It was an operation done by a team we put together of retired “SEAL types” as a special unit. We had them moving through many homes and through many checkpoints throughout last few nights. All five females are safe as are the brothers and father!

Incredible work being done through a charitable foundation at the free will of everyone involved. Didn't need government to place a gun to the head of any citizen to achieve these amazing results.

• In total, more than 11,455 people have been moved or fed. Mercury One (M1), funded by donations to the Nazarene Fund, has become the largest refugee aid organization in Iraq.

• About two weeks ago, M1 started moving people to Australia. They’re taking 60 people weekly, and that effort will be ongoing for awhile.

• Currently, a large refugee camp in Greece houses both Muslims and Christians together. The Christians are being brutally persecuted in the camp. Last week, M1 was on the ground in Greece and secured an old warehouse to rebuild for Christian refugees. This will provide safe housing away from Muslim persecution

• In the next couple of weeks, another refugee camp will be closed after 900 people are moved to safety in northern in Iraq,” Glenn said.

The Nazarene Fund is funding churches throughout the Middle East that need help. While conducting a routine interview for families wanting to depart to Central America, M1’s security vetting team learned of a family of six Christian girls, ranging in age from ten to 22, with a single mom, whose father and husband had been shot and chopped into pieces in front of the family by ISIS. A special operations team funded by M1 deployed into hostile territory and removed the girls in the middle of the night. The youngest daughter is ten and just started school in a refugee church in Jordan, funded by M1. All girls are doing well and went shopping for clothes and make-up with the M1 team. The mother, who still wears black, now has a smile on her face for the first time in months. When the M1 team left her last week, she was looking forward to cooking in her kitchen for her family and walking her daughters to school every morning now that she knows they are safe.

Very ignorant comment. I've long said that anyone on welfare should be put to work fixing roads, cleaning up parks, etc. so that the American tax payer not only gets something for their money, but so that they save the additional tax payer dollars spent on these things.

Thankfully your opinion does not make the law. The "General Welfare" clause applies to the 18 enumerated powers only. That is a 100% fact. Here is Thomas Jefferson himself (you know - author of the Declaration of Independence and founding father of this great nation):

“Congress had not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but were restrained to those specifically enumerated; and that, as it was never meant they should provide for that welfare but by the exercise of the enumerated powers, so it could not have been meant they should raise money for purposes which the enumeration did not place under their action” - Thomas Jefferson (June 6, 1817)

That could not be any more cut & dry and crystal clear. Exact dates are included for you to verify for yourself. If the federal government actually had power to "promote the General Welfare" - they would have unlimited power. They could just claim that everything was "to promote the general welfare". It's an absurd and disingenuous claim by liberals because they don't like the limitation of power.
