I’ll grant you that Trump is screwing things up but almost EVERYTHING is better now.
The democrat partyThings were perfect under Joe Biden? Is that why he didn't finish out 1 term and his party replaced him? Or is everything better now that Trump is screwing it all up?
Name one thing Trump has actually "screwed up?"

I am grateful for living in the era of :
Doris Day
Donna Summer
Olivia Newton John
John Candy
Robin Williams
Annie Lennox
Carol Burnett
The 70's
The 80's
Growing up outside
My Grandma
America when it had a sense of humor and people basically got along
This is a thread that basically harkens itself back to what it claims was a better time. I simply challenged that times were better in the 70s/80s. There are lots of threads on what Trump is doing wrong. Pop into any of them.Things were perfect under Joe Biden? Is that why he didn't finish out 1 term and his party replaced him? It wasnt better when Carter was president. It was when Reagan was elected. This is a thread that basically harkens itself back to what it claims was a better time. I simply challenged that times were better in the 70s/80s. There are lots of threads on what Trump is doing wrong. Pop into any of them.

It’s tricky though. Think about housing costs which are higher now. In 1970s the average house was 1500 sqft. It’s now 2250 sqft. A 1970s TV is no comparison to a 2026 TV. Consumer goods like food and clothing are much lower percent of your costs now.Things were certainly freer then. Fewer rules, restrictions and regulations.
Things were also cheaper, easier to live, higher standard of living when in the late 70s, it has been shown that our dollar bought more/ the most of our lifetimes before inflation started overtaking wages for good.
If true then the developers are merely appealing to a high income, more profitable segment of society now. It’s tricky though. Think about housing costs which are higher now. In 1970s the average house was 1500 sqft. It’s now 2250 sqft.
A 1970s TV was also much costlier to build. Inch for inch, LED technology is much cheaper than analog CRT. The advantage to 50 years is that you learn how to make the same thing both better, easier and cheaper.A 1970s TV is no comparison to a 2026 TV.
My water and food were just fine back in 1970. I used to drink out of my garden hose and it tasted great, and in 1970, I could buy real watermelon with seeds that was the size of a dog. I also got a dozen hand picked fresh ears of corn for $1.00.Less rules also resulted in more contaminants in waterways and in your food back then.
Food and necessary household items are way more of a percentage of income now, liar. It’s tricky though. Think about housing costs which are higher now. In 1970s the average house was 1500 sqft. A lot of it is how we live. Leisure spending is much higher now. Compare Disney then vs 2026 Disney. Not the same at all.
I wouldn’t trade everything I have now vs what living in 1977 was like. Yuck.

Food and necessary household items are way more of a percentage of income now, liar.

I used to get steak once a week, but have not had one in 11 mos now, because I'm not paying retarded prices for it. Last one was $5.99 rib roast.
Pork chops, the other steak. I may go get some tomorrow.
I think they're like $1.67/lb.
No reason in this world for beef to be so expensive.
May start getting lamb, don't care.
People are going to eat something, and if beef is overpriced, it will get passed by.
Televisions were more expensive back then. I just saw an old paper where a 20" Color Zenith was like $279. And it weighed close to 200 lbs, I bet.In 1970, all you needed was a pencil and paper to get by.
Now these days, just in order to function and get by, a person needs a cellular phone system with texting, a computer, internet service, an up to date operating system and web browser, plus web surfing computer skills just to say hello or ask a question.

James Brown.
In 1973 most of the adults probably smoked.
I don't see it.Has anyone ever pointed out that James Brown looked a lot like a black Steve McGarrett?

There is that broad brush again! All schools, all teachers, and all students! Every single one of them! When did you take the time to visit them all? Those were the days when teachers wanted to foster critical thinking. These days, that’s the last thing they want. They want students to be brainwashed into leftism.
I don't see it.
