The Democratic Party and some Republicans became absolutely wed to these narratives however, even when the cracks began showing. Now, they don't even have the integrity to show up and admit they were wrong about some things. It's no wonder trust in government is so low, but as long as the American people continue to tolerate it when their side is guilty, it will continue.
