Republicans with some exceptions are a tragedy, Democrats with very few exceptions are a disaster.
Have a nice day.

seems like a pretty stupid article
first, independents? I say bullshit, they never define which positions they support or dont cause they are actually not independent, they are just hiding like a coward
two, the independent then gives us a history of tragedies.

I did not make it past the history lesson

so what is this thread about and how does the article relate to it, who knows, the author just found a link, made a quick post with about no content at all

Just an opinion piece. While I do not agree with everything the author wrote, I look at the tragedy part of the GOP and apply that to old line GOP types like McConnell. The dems being disaster is accurate considering many of the candidates they have run and their singular insanity about Trump.

Democrats want "equity", but without fathers they are always starting at a disadvantage, hopefully not a "disaster".
Republicans just want a fair shot at success, without dealing with "affirmative action" or other governmental obstacles, creating a "tragedy".

From the article,
"Both perspectives claim to uphold justice but define it differently. For Democrats, justice means fairness of conditions—removing perceived systemic impediments so everyone can start at an equitable (equal) point. For Republicans, justice means fairness of process—ensuring the freedom to act and reap the natural rewards or consequences of those actions."

I've always heard it described as Republicans want equality of opportunity while Democrats want equality of outcome.

Nothing new here.
It is the same polarity, division, common to the human condition from way back at the beginning.
On one hand - Wealth Creators
On other hand - Wealth Redistributors (Takers)

Meanwhile, "Independent" means not willing to take a firm stand either way, willing to flex and be swayed, and not willing to put skin in the game.

We have two major political Parties/Factions because to run for office and intend/want to win costs money, support, and effort. More than just your name on a ballot (which often requires a filling fee $$$ anyway).

Signs and literature/handouts to print;
TV and radio ads,
An Office with rent, desks, phones, copiers, staff, etc.;
Speaking engagements to Rotary Clubs~public debates~Q&As =travel time and expenses,
fund raising to pay for all of this,
and often unpaid bills after to be covered by the candidate and supporters, ETC. ....

There's no doubt that both parties suck. At the moment the democraps suck more. Without a doubt. Just imagine how bad things would be if Harris were POTUS today.

There are men and women who have no business to be in politics. And they make the professional reasoning men and women in politics look as inept or corrupted as they are.

It is nearly impossible to succeed as a politician in the federal government without being corrupt, and inept. There are no good politicians in DC, some are just much more corrupt and inept than others. At the moment the GOP has a better team that sucks less than the other team, but that is subject to change if the democraps ever get their heads out of their asses. That might take quite a few cycles.

I like the fact you pointed that out, but in my humble opinion only one view is achievable or sustainable.

I personally don't think that anything is ever really fair, equitable (in a social sense), and certainly never equal. Considering that, the only way a government could ensure the greatest ability to get as close to those as possible, would be through process and never an individual approach.

With all the individual variables involved, the only way a government could achieve equality, fairness or even equity through action, would be through limiting its own activity and what it chooses not to do for anyone. Kind of like the US Constitution and its Bill of Rights.

The Democrats claiming to be defending democracy and the constitution is as ludicrous as Bonnie and Clyde claiming to be protecting banks.

They try to position themselves into the psyche of the electorate with propaganda messages. But over time everyone learned that it is just mindfuckery and the democraps NEVER tell the truth. They have zero credibility today. Half the country still believes the democraps stole the 2020 election and the democraps had to counter that with mindfuckery of them being the party of democracy. And everyone except really stupid democraps believes that. Democraps are the party of the establishment and the global elite. That's who they really are.

All Democrats defend democracy and the rule of men.

Some Republicans also defend democracy and the rule of men. Some defend republicanism and the rule of law.

Hence the Democrats are always more unified than the Republicans.

You seem to think the government is full of good guys, especially on the democrap side. It amazes me that people fall for the dichotomy that one party is the good guys and the other party is the bad guys. In reality the situation is much more like Bloods v. Crips. Who is the best violent gang? Here is another question for those who still think the democraps are the good guys: Do you really think the democrap party, that acts in unison on everything, really goes to work each and every day thinking "What can I do for the middle class in my district today?" Or are they really inundated with meetings of lobbyists carrying around big sacks of money in exchange for political favors? I really do think most democraps are dumb enough to believe the democrap party doesn't work for lobbyists and works tirelessly for the benefit of the working class.
