The US drags along Eurotrash of all types to our conflicts. While they are in fact dependents, we pretend they are 'allies', but there is no real difference. It only makes sense for other countries likely to face Western weapons and troops to try and get some experience against such forces and equipment. I'm surprised the Chinese aren't more actively engaged there.

The Red Chinese are hoping for a major Russian failure, they're just hiding it behind fake smiles and a trickle of support; their ultimate goal is lopping off a big chunk of Russian territory and massively increasing their presence in all those little regimes on its borders, with which they are already smoozing. They're just stringing Putin along, since the longer he stays in his imperial fantasy mode the more Russia is bled dry.


Ukraine doesn't want to be another Crimea disaster; its allegedly 'pro-Russian' population is 30% of its pre-war population, and its economic productivity is even more depleted. All Putin and his allies can do is steal and plunder; they can't manage a snow cone stand much less a country.
