And to make it more unbelievable, it's exclusively a virtual simulation:

The computer-simulated drills, called Ulchi Focus Lens, are designed to test U.S. and South Korean readiness for military emergencies on the Korean peninsula. They will run for 12 days from Aug. 23.

when we had the real deal back in march (fowl eagle 04, with the japanese, south koreans and the US) they screamed bloody murder too.

its going to be fun because busan, south korea (which is the worst port we hit in Asia) is going to be a rather regular port for us because the Kitty Hawk strike group (largest in the navy by the way) is going to be holding damn near annual training exercises (war games if you're blunt) like fowl eagle because of the reallignment of US troops in South Korea and tensions that continue to rise despite South Korea's political leadership claims that North Korea is behaving.

when we go to busan next year i'll post some pictures of the russian ships there, texas street (which is one of the few places americans are welcomed) and the south korean marines (who make american marines look nice)
