It's amazing how iconic jeans are. My brother went to the Soviet Union in 1973 on a high school trip. He was approached repeatedly about selling his jeans. He had 2 pair of jeans with him, one new, one old and faded. Guess which one people wanted. Other things the Russians wanted were chewing gum, Chicago albums and books, but blue jeans were by far first.
