Because, and you can see it here on this board, people aren't taught to think beyond the headline.The Military has to compete with everyone else on wages and benefits
When I joined it was for the educational benefits and because I was taught that service was an obligation.
The military gave me self discipline and teamwork along with firefighting and shoring skills I've thankfully never used.
The benefits set me on a great career.
But people aren't taught to think that way now.
It's all about what I can get now.
