The military gave me self discipline and teamwork along with firefighting and shoring skills I've thankfully never used.

The benefits set me on a great career.

My son keeps in touch with his buddies that he served with in Iraq. Some that stayed in the Army to make it a career. They are getting close to retirement now.

Not only is recruitment really low but reenlistment is very low.
