What kind of irrational child are you? Millions of women wisely get mammograms every year. YOU are the first I've heard whine like this; or be so utterly, nihilistically illogical.

I will never get another mammogram. Ever. Yes, I had breast cancer. NONE in my family history. NONE. I got it due to damage to my breast. When I told my lady doctor that I think damage to breast tissue can cause cancer, she agreed with me. So nope. No more mamms for me. And its not illogical.

You don't have to drink that gallon of nasty stuff. There is a new drink on the market....about the size of a bottle of pepsi. Does the same work with less gagging of that crap they make you drink. Only problem is...its VERY VERY expensive. So if you have the money, you tell the doc you want that instead.

Don't put it off. Seriously, the only negative to the experience is the cleaning out your colon and not being able to eat the day before. You go to sleep and wake up, that's it. No pain, no discomfort. You go home and resume your life.

But, yes, I will end up having the procedure. Likely over the winter. Last time I got put under was earlier this year, I think. That was for a cardioversion to correct my afib.

To be honest, and I feel kind of dumb here, I didn't know they put you under, I thought they just stuck it up your butt while you're awake. lol.

Things are going well on this end. How about you? I had it done 5 years ago now and they told me up front I would be out. The guy literally pushed the plunger on my IV and told me I had about 10 seconds before I fell asleep, I felt the cold of the anesthesia going into my arm, then I woke up in recovery with no side effects whatsoever.

That's how I felt until I finally had mine at 60. I was so relieved/pleased when afterwards I was told all was fine and to come back in 10 years.

That was after the second ultrasound which I knew the tech had blew off; so, no doubt they had some divisive plans to help out their "new surgeon". Haven't been back to that local clinic since and will not go back there unless an emergency arises.

I have seen some of the worst examples for medical professionals over the years. On the other hand I have had some wonderful doctors and medical professionals that provided needs that were an absolute must do.

Don't think portions of it were not that way before. Do your own research before taking any drastic measures. It takes some hunting but well worth it in the long term.

Almost 15 years ago Rod's first trip to a full medical workup since leaving the service in the early 80's his doc asked me, "What do you feed him?" I responded, "food". He laughed and then told me that Rod was one of the healthiest vets for his age he had ever seen and again asked what I fed him. I told him simply we generally don't eat junk food, so actual food.

Cool thing about being older and having time on one's hands is you can learn so much online. I wish I'd known in our forties what I know now about herbs, supplements, etc. and we'd be even healthier.

The worse one I had was the ones Travelers sent me to when I was covered in chemicals at work that were supposed to have 500 gallons of water for every one gallon of chemical. The SOB was a known drug addict and a psychopath. They called me uncooperative because I would not take that SOB's drugs. Here I was poisoned and he tried to drug me instead of detox the poisons and start trying to mitigate the damage. Rod nor I knew if I would live or die for years over that.

The first bad doc I ever experienced literally called my mom to come get my children and sent me home to die because I did not have insurance (that was in 1980). So yes I watch them all like a hawk.

I have to go in for surgery soon and have a flub surgery that was screwed up in 2001 fixed and I have been putting that off since 2001. That guy's license was pulled here so he moved out of state and started over.

First time I had it done I was semi-conscious and thought aliens were probing my butt.
They know better now - I think the knockout is standard M.O.

I’m stuck with getting this done after a CT showed something abnormal. I also had a blood transfusion while in the hospital.
Thinking I was just a little low on blood, she was quick to say it was a lot.

I guess I should find out wtf is going on.

No he has it correct. When my nephew was only 19 one doctor demanded a Porsche payment out of the boy knowing damn well the kid didn't have a dime to his name. That bastard tried to extort the kid and in the meantime played with his life. His face and neck were swollen with infection so bad that he wasn't recognizable. Just by chance I'd gotten in state that night because my dad was in major surgery in another state and they'd asked me to house sit. I had the nephew go to the emergency room and they immediately started draining off the infection and had him in surgery the next day. Poor kid had been like that and getting worse for more than a week. He'd given that doctor his last $300.00 during that week of misery that the doctor should have sent him to emergency when his face was only swollen out a bit instead of taking the chances he did with him while trying to extract more money via his family members. That shit goes on all over.
