No kings protests go off without much harm to protesters

There were so many people at the parade that they had to set up large viewing screens so the over flow could watch. You're clueless as usual, Dragonlady!

Really??? They set up the viewing screens BEFORE the event even started fool. Empty seats everywhere.

Where are all of these people??

Magaseems upset even when I praise their restraint. Not many fascist regimes would not kill anyone in a protest. Apart from those losers in Minnesota.
You should be proud that you are evolving.
Prove that your socialism agendas will not cause taxation to rise up to uncomfortable levels. And prove that the resources will trickle down to the peasants. Very few Progressives in any power position are living with reduced comforts. In fact, they live like royalty. The real kings. And the real Queens. The Dukes and Duchesses of pure comforts and largesse. Live y your demands. We have joke violence here which is not funny while life and death situations are happening in parts of the planet.

It looks like police have aggressively charged drivers attempting to harm protestors.

Trump's parade was a bust. The reviewing stands were empty. Nobody believes that Trump gives a rat's ass for the soldiers. They're just toy soldiers to move around to make him look good. The military is in turmoil because the officers are well aware that Trump is using them and they don't like it.

The slim majority of voters may have voted for Donald Trump but the vast majority of Americans didn't vote at all, so for Trump to claim some overwhelming mandate to remake the nation, is delusional. 26% of the population voted for Trump, which means that 74% of the population DID NOT vote for Trump.

Trump needs to remember that his hold on the American people is slim, at best.
We live closer to a high security dystopian world now. Security is a must and can be expensive. There are also people on both sides of the aisle who have some concerns over others. It is possible that some did not want to go to this. There was a time, they would have if so. It was actually calming. Watching what was mostly Army, having a calming effect.

Actually, only a plurality of the voters

There were 161 million registered voters so Trump didn't even get a majority of registered voters. He would have needed over 80 million voters for that. Trump won a slim majority of those who actually voted. That's not even a majority of voters, much less a mandate.

I had the feeling yesterday that between the murders and more than 15 million people across all 50 states, took to the streets to protest Trump's behaviour, he will be chastened for a time. Even Trump has the good sense to recognize that he's gone WAY too far.

Trump's trade war has been lost utterly. This is a worse disaster than his last trade war which saw trade deficits increase by 40% from the 2016 trade deficit, 200,000 manufacturing jobs lost, and a completely crashed economy. While the pandemic certainly added to the crash, the nation was on the verge of a recession when the pandemic hit.

Already, your trade deficit has increased by 25% over last year, and last year's trade deficit was the highest in America history.

It's not the world that is a "high security" or "dystopian". It's ONLY the USA. The authoritarian states you love so much. You keep selling guns to the your population and telling them that Democrats are "demons" and immigrants are dangerous.

People in other countries don't live like that, unless it's Russia or Hungary, or some place where citizens have no rights. I haven't seen the USA army on the streets since the integration was forced on the Southern States in the 1960's.

Trump is destroying the USA. The economy is going into a recession. Prices are rising, crime and violence are rising, and the biggest criminals of all are in the White House. There is no hope for the USA at this point.

Most Americans watched the Army parade and were not interested in those orchestrated protests.

Thats a huge relief. I do hope that those attacked by maga nutters recover but it could have been a lot worse.
I think we should take a moment to thank Pres Trump for this. The great man even put on a parade to distract his moronic followers.
We know that maga cant focus on more than one thing and it worked well distracting the herd from their more customary violence.
Maybe that will work in furure events ? Give them something shiny to play with.
Heres to the nest protest. Stay safe.
My kids went, and they said it was a great experience (they hadn't done something like this before). High spirits, and the cops were friendly, respectful and helpful. A very good day for them.

A whole lot of stupid here.

I would be highly embarrassed if my kids attended such a protest. They wouldn’t because I raised them better than that.

So you have nothing. When you go straight to insults, you prove you can't refute what is posted.

The USA is a dying nation. These are its death throes. Electing a craven criminal and a coward at that, is proof positive of theat.

I didn't think that anyone who voted for Trump was capable of feeling embarassed about anything. I'd be embarassed if the candidate I voted for turned out of be as dishonest and corrupt as Trump, but then I have standards and morals. Something that no one named Trump has any concept of.

I am not going to respond to such a nonsensical post. The US is not falling, if anything, it is getting stronger. Biden was a demented clown who didn’t know what was going on. Continuing down the path his handlers had us on was a recipe for disaster. Horrible foreign policy, supporting terrorists and terrorist regimes, corrupt to the core as most career politicians are, not enforcing our immigration laws nor securing our borders, etc, etc, etc. Lunatics that think like you are the minority in this country. We need to keep it that way.

You mean like Ashli Babbitt, Tommy? That kind of a killing by a "fascist regime"? Oh wait, that was you on the left killing a conservative protester! That's not a problem...right?

Babbit was participating in an Insurrection. Attempting to overthrow the government generally endangers your life.

I realize you don't understand the difference between an insurrection and a protest but you need to learn that distinction before posting.

Protest
/prəˈtest, ˈproʊ·test/ to express disagreement with, disapproval of, or opposition to something by complaining strongly about it: [ I/T ] Groups of students have been protesting (against) the tuition increase. (Definition of protest from the Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary © Cambridge University Press)

Insurrection
An organized attempt by a group of people to defeat their government and take control of their country, usually by violence.

January 6th was an attempt to defeat the government and take control of the country by killing Mike Pence and the other members of leadership of the House and Senate.

Whether trump is affected or not remains to be seen. But GOP lackeys in the swing states will be taking notice. It will work on their innate cowardice. Who do they fear most ? Trump or the people ?

Getting stronger??? What's your definition of "stronger"?

Your dollar is dropping. The world isn't buying your bonds. Interest rates are going up and your credit rating has been downgraded. The rest of the world is cutting up your national credit card, and Trump is asking for an increase in your credit limit.

Your trade deficit is also increasing. It's up by 25% this year over last and last year was the highest trade deficit in history.

Billions of dollars of business construction and investment is being cancelled.

Your allies are no longer buying weapons systems from you either. That includes Canada. We just announced a big increase in defense spending. Currently 70% of our defense spending is in the USA, but we will be cancelling all of our defense purchases and seeking European sources.

We're not buying weapons from the nation which continues to threaten our sovereignty.

At this point, it's still Trump. Trump's hold on the party is so strong that if they don't have Trump's approval, he will "primary" them, and they'll be gone.

Trump candidates might not be able to win in the general elections in more moderate states, but they can perform like bosses in the Primaries and take out any Republican who dares to even criticize Trump.
Look at the idiots Trump has backed. Herschel Walker. Dr. Oz. Kari Lake. All of these losers won their primaries with ease, because Trump endorsed them. Even otherwise sane and moderate Republicans in the House or Senate will toe the Trump line because they fear being primaried, and they fear that they will be attacked, doxxed, or endangered by the MAGA extremists.

At this point, Trump is trying desperately to provoke sufficient unrest that he can declare martial law, and cancel the 2026 elections. This weekend has been a huge set back for Trump but it won't deter him. He won't stop. He is determined to be the last elected President of the USA.

/——/ Tommy, when is the No Kings parade in the UK?

/——/ Tommy, when is the No Kings parade in the UK?

The British King has no power whatsoever. None of the European monarchs have any political power. So none of them have any reason to hold such demonstrations.

The only argument against the constitutional monarchies is the cost. Given that your "King" has been abusing the public purse, enriching himself and his family at the expense of the American people, and scamming them relentlessly with his fund raising and trading cards and bitcoins, while cutting health care, nutrition, and education for the people, Trump is going to be seeing a lot more NO KINGS days, until he remembers that he's a public SERVANT, and he starts SERVING the people instead of exploiting them for fun and profit.

The cruelty of the Trump Administration is a feature not a bug, and the American people don't like it.

I have been reading political science novels since the 1970's. Pretty much what we see now was predicted than. And elites unelected people and politicians were involved then. We have lost unalienable rights. Social rights may have expanded; the unalienable ones will be those that give us the dictatorship. That army you saw last night was not war mongering.
