Actually I do. I have long held that there should be no such things as credits or deductions. I have dozens of post on here talking about it. I would get rid of all tax expenditures. No more writing off college or mortgage or kids or anything.

We use our tax code for social engineering and that is not what it is for.

If two people working in the same office make the same amount of money, their taxes should be exactly the same.

You do realize Congress would have to pass anything either one of them promise, except for a few small items. Kamala has no coattails for Congress to change directions. She would have a Republican House and a new Republican Senate.

There should be no income tax for those receiving government paychecks. Salaries could be reduced by the average taxable amount paid, and then the IRS would not have to deal with returns from any of those people. Federal government workers, the military, and social security recipients would then receive lower salaries and checks and never have to file. This prevents people being taxed to pay their own paycheck.

Any income you derive from working in excess of your salaried rate should not get taxed either. I worked a salaried position before so I know.
