No Deal!!

...and Obama will claim that the Republicans "refused to compromise."

GOP Lost the:

Presidential election by 5 million votes
Senate election by 10.9 million votes
House election by 1.7 million votes

They can't get their way through the NORMAL system of checks and balances, shut the government down, and we should compromise?

You need to get your head examined. :cuckoo:

There is no need to compromise. The republicans now know that and they are scared shitless as their favor-ability ratings sink coming into an election year.

You need to understand that conservatives on this board are very far right. They do not represent the average Republican or Independent. They have this belief that they are right about everything and, that in the real world, most people actually agree with them. Unfortunately for them, that is completely the opposite of reality as the vast majority do not agree with them. Obama is taking these nut cases and he is allowing them to showcase their stupidity for all to see. The end result will be substantial losses at the polls in 2014 and very likely a catastrophe for Republicans in 2016.

Obama has come to realize that Republicans will do anything and everything to see him fail, and that he is just not going to accomplish much over the next three years, so he's going to set the table for Democrats down the road. The biggest failure of Republicans is their inability to understand that Obama is actually smarter than them and does a much better job playing to his audience than Republicans themselves. He is a master politician that ranks right up there with Clinton and GW. Yea, Democrats made the same mistake about GW. They underestimated his star power. They wanted so bad to assume that he didn't know what he was doing and that he was just a puppet of Dick Cheney. Of course, Dems were quite wrong as GW outsmarted them all over and over again. But this is what radicals do. They are so absorbed with their own tunnel vision that they completely miss what is actually going on.

If Republicans would do anything to see Obama fail, they wouldn't be fighting Obama care. They would let him slide it in under the noses of the American people and let them find out what a skunk of a program it really was. Hell, even the unions are upset with the program ad want it changed or get waivers like Congress has so that they don't have to suffer with the results like the rest of the American people.

No one can answer the question why Congress decided they were above Obamacare and did not have to follow the law. Anyone care to try and answer that for the American people? Sure they would love to know....

The ACA is not about trying to take away people's health insurance or to make it more expensive. It's to help insure millions of people who are currently not insured because they cannot afford insurance. It is also about moving in a forward direction by pushing some things like electronic medical records that will help reduce overall operating costs in the long run for medical providers, so those savings can be passed on to consumers. It really never was intended to be a punishment to those who already receive great health insurance. This whole thing about Congress getting an exemption is just plain stupid because it has no real bearing on the ACA.

 It's all about control and the road to a single payer (single controller) medical system...totally socialized medicine. You dupes that think Obama has the best interests of the poor uninsured blokes of this nation in mind are simply being made fools by the master deceiver who actually, as you say "does a much better job playing to his audience" than anyone else in politics. He is, after all the master deceiver...and you are just one of his many fools.

I'm sorry, those are liberal talking points that are as of now unsubstantiated.

First, if your insurance is not covered under Obamacare, you will have to get rid of it, that also means you will have to say goodbye to your favorite doctor. Second, premiums could go as high as $7,200, which would make it practically unaffordable to a low income individual.

^^^^Hard evidence that liberalism is a mental disorder!^^^^

Hard evidence that neanderthal Conservatives are reduced to all fours when presented with facts.

You didnt present any facts. Actually you presented irrelevancies and fallacies. But to the liberal that appears to be fact.
The truth is that politics is about compromise. Obama and Reid refuse to compromise. They are the cause of this shutdown. The GOP has floated several plans and been willing, too willing!, to make concessions.

No, I fully expect Obama simply to order the Treasury to borrow money to pay bills this week.

And which bills to pay. Exactly like he wants it.

I sure am glad I pulled out of the stock market in September. Some buying opportunities may be headed this way.

You are talking complete shit, and you know it.

A family of four, both 25, non-smokers, with two small children, with income of 36K, living in Portland, Or. can get a plan with 87% actuarial value for $1487 a year. That is about $124 a month. Ever bother to look anything at all up before you flap-yap?

As usual The Rabbi and logic don't mix like oil and water...

The GOP house had 18 requests since April to conference on a budget (which concessions were floated to Paul Ryan spending limits), they refused to accept and pushed for MORE.

So.. In your idiotic idea of the meaning of "compromise", the Senate and the POTUS (checks & balances) should give them everything they wanted? I would live to see the GOP do that if they were in the other shoes.

Here is the GOP logic, by your grounds:

GOP: "Buy 10 of these magazines or I will kill these puppies"
Dems: "We don't want all 10 of your magazines, but, we will buy 5"
GOP: *Stomping sounds*
GOP: "YOU KILLED THE PUPPIES!!!"

:lol::lol:

The best part is that America knows this, that is why the GOP has a record low approval rating of 27%.

Indeed it is! ...and the Chief Non-negotiator, Harry Reid has killed OVER 200 bills from the House by letting them die in Senate committees...then he has the audacity to call the GOP House a "do nothing" House.

Reid is just about as good a liar as his boss, Obama.

Liberalism is indeed a mental disorder. The liberal sheeple do little more than parrot the canned talking points put out by the Liar in Chief and his loyal staff of 'spokesmen". Jay Carney is a silly sock puppet.

I'm not sure that liberalism is a mental disorder, They are just needy people who cannot fend for themselves and need the government for their basic needs and thoughts.

So Old Cocks is saying that if ACA is successful it will lead to single payer? WTF? If it fails, it will lead to single payer. If it succeeds it will remain as it is. Right?
But it wont succeed. It cannot succeed. There is no model that predicts taht increased gov't control, command price structures, and lack of choice lead to lower costs. The opposite: they lead to higher costs plus scarcity. This is Econ 101, which most liberals seem to have slept through.

Please post the compromises that Obama and Reid have offered.

The Senate (led by Pat Murray), passed a budget and opened a committee to have a conference and hash out the differences between the House's budget. However, the house blocked Harry Reid from opening the conference.

So after three years of the same tired ass barf-argument about the Senate never passing a budget, when they finally do (at almost 300 billion under what Obama wanted), the House declined 18 times to sit down and compromise on a budget since April.

Is that not an attempt to compromise? And, if not, how to do you reach a compromise when the other side refuses to even have a table let alone sit at it to negotiate?

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Mockery is a crutch for the weak in the vacuum of factual arguments.
