No Apologies for Devastating Nursing Home Policy
State governments, including those of New York and Pennsylvania, appallingly forced nursing homes to accept patients who had tested positive for COVID-19. Refraining from inflicting this policy would have done more good than every draconian lockdown imposed throughout the country, considering that people over 80 are at far higher risk than the rest of us.
Regarding Pennsylvania,
New York’s ruler Andrew Cuomo was shamed into finally rescinding the order that forced the virus into nursing homes. Empire State officials are even admitting that they altered the death count so as to underreport nursing home mortality.
Too bad the “people are going to die anyway” argument is only applied to failing to protect the vulnerable, but not to lockdowns that quarantine the healthy.
On tips from Mr. Freemarket, Stormfax, and Rapinhoe.

Refraining from inflicting this policy would have done more good than every draconian lockdown imposed throughout the country, considering that people over 80 are at far higher risk than the rest of us.
Regarding Pennsylvania,
No wonder cross-dressing Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Rachel Levine pulled his own mother out of a nursing home while this policy was in place. The bulk of the deaths in the Keystone State took place in nursing homes, over 2,400 of the state’s approximately 4,000 deaths.
New York’s ruler Andrew Cuomo was shamed into finally rescinding the order that forced the virus into nursing homes. Empire State officials are even admitting that they altered the death count so as to underreport nursing home mortality.
New York leads the country in nursing home deaths. But don’t expect contrition from Andrew Cuomo, whom the media has anointed a COVID-19 hero. He was asked whether there should be any accountability for the many lives lost due to his devastating March 25 directive. From his response, via The Blaze:The New York State Department of Health acknowledged in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation that it only reported as coronavirus deaths those from long-term care patients that died while physically present at their facility.
Previous to around March 3, they were reported whether they died at their facility or at a hospital.
Old people are going to die anyway, so what does it matter if Cuomo made a few thousand of them die a little faster?“Older people, vulnerable people are going to die from this virus. That is going to happen despite whatever you do. Because with all our progress as a society, we can’t keep everyone alive. Despite what everything you do and older people are more vulnerable. And that is a fact. And that is not going to change.”
Too bad the “people are going to die anyway” argument is only applied to failing to protect the vulnerable, but not to lockdowns that quarantine the healthy.
