But the way to do it is to transition the function gradually to the State Dept so that you don’t interrupt badly needed aid.

The way to do it is not to fire those who have been delivering aid, those with the knowledge and infrastructure to deliver aid, subject matter experts

The State Dept currently does not have the personnel to deliver this aid. Especially when their own people are being fired.

The USA is not the world's "Red Cross Society"
Even the Red Cross isn't that functional anymore. They are the MOST expensive place for hospitals to purchase blood and blood products. At every natural disaster they leave right after the photo Op is over.

But....the USA can't fix every problem in the world created by negligence and/or ignorance or violence.

The USA simply can't afford it.

And the money wasn't going where intended anyway. It went to bribes, kickbacks, and mistress's vacation homes.
