One soldier of the NVA guards the border where the wall will be built, starting in the night at app. 1 am, 48 years ago.



Two days later one of his comrades who had the same job, decided he wanted to be on the other side of the barbed wire. one iconic picture of the cold war:

The wall stood for nearly 30 years, i saw it once when I was training with the Berlin brigade, very depressing.
