The facts you cite are reason enough for israelis to want to serve and have not be compelled. The fact you DO HAVE compulsory service indicates there is a problem.

As for your second comment, nothing. But that decision should be left up to the adult to make on their own and not be dictated to them from above by a nanny government.

If at 18 your ols enough to die for your country your also old enough to make your own decisions.

Nothing regarding anything positive about Israel will ever be compelling to you.
Islam has from it's conception proven to bring about mass murder despite the contents of the Quran.
If you don't like anything about Israel, no one is compelling you to move there.

In terms of a military, historical Israel ALWAYS had compulsory service going back to Joshua.

Army service gives you a totally new prespective of life.

Fair enough but again that decision to partake in a new perspective on life should be left up to the individual and not dictated by government.

You're not the only one to point that out. Some belive that it should be like you say. But most civilians still believe drafting should be forced in law.

And if they didn't, you wpuld have seen it in mass protests and riots.

Then its sad israel cannot rely on the patriotism of it's sons and daughters to defend the country and need to rely on involuntary conscription and indentured servitude to insure the safety and security of its mothers and fathers.
