15 yard penalty.....Illegal Snow Angel

NFL relaxing penalties for on-field celebrations

Roger Goodell is expected to tell NFL owners group celebrations, using ball as prop after TDs, going to ground, snow angels are now allowed.

..
I don't mind the celebrations, as long as they aren't taunting the other team. With that said, give me Barry Sanders any day of the week, especially on Sunday.

I don't get what's wrong with taunting the other team.

It's a physical competition. You won that battle, rub their face in it.
Maybe it demoralizes them, maybe it fires them up.
The next battle is at hand.

There are too many pussified fans anymore.

Its poor sportsmanship

There's no column for sportsmanship on the stats sheet.
It's football, American football. Not hacky sack.

There is no column on how good your TD dance was either

With TV ratings falling, Goodell has to find a way to keep NFL from meaning No Fun League.

But I will still honor the sainted Chuck "The Emperor" Noll's line of thinking about end zone celebrations: act like you've been there before!

I believe that was Paul Brown

Don't mention that name in the presence of a Steelers fan. Blasphemy!

I don't really enjoy all the on-field antics of the players either. I want to watch them play, not dance and not make snow angels. However, I do think that fining them ten thousand dollars (or whatever outrageous amount of money) is a bit on the ridiculous side.

Hopefully some players don't take advantage and take the celebrations into overkill territory. :uhoh3: Some of them are totally obnoxious though.

They consider it a delay of game, I want to know when they will penalize the broadcasters for delay of game that stops the game so much for commercials.

You want to see them bend over in their tight see through pants.

Captain Crunch!

On-field celebrations are great for QBs focused on Super Bowls that are both tight and heart-breaking..

Case-in-point: Vince Ferragamo's LA Rams against Terry Bradshaw's Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XIV (1979 NFL season).

There's no reason band-leading a difficult scenario can't be...delicious.

Besides, didn't Madden NFL video games change the way people thought about merchandise/fanfare?

====

FERRAGAMO: I'm glad on-field cheers weren't hyped in Super Bowl XIV...
BRADSHAW: Why not? You could've used the on-field 'glitz,' my friend!
FERRAGAMO: No way! We were Cinderellas with our backs to the wall...
BRADSHAW: No Snow Angels?
FERRAGAMO: Only the Blues Band!
BRADSHAW: Media will change everything...

I think for the most part they are phony

And now ladies and gentlemen, for your enjoyment, Bubba Jones will do a little dance to celebrate his recent touchdown
