This is no true at all. This is how people are indoctrinated. You heard that somewhere and run with it as if it is true. NO insurance company can cancel a policy during a brush fire, or right after it to avoid paying a claim. They can non-renew policies if the company doesn't want to continue their exposure in brush areas, and they give the people ample notice on non renewal. Those people can then get another company or the FAIR Plan which is state operated in Calif.
