Newsom Wants to Teardown Hydro Dams in Water and Electricity Deprived California

Hydro power that hasn't generated electricity since 2006 is one of the few renewables that can take the place of baseline power?

Who knew?

Why not fix the damn plant instead of removing the dam?

And you didn't answer my question about the numbers you supplied because more than likely you don't know and don't care.

How about building bigger and better finish ladders. It would cost nothing to install them. We should find ways to protect wild salmon populations. Only an idiot would disagree.

Democrats only goal is to destroy America. California already is short of fresh water and electricity, they should be building hydroelectric dams not tearing them down.

Again, for the folks that refuse to do the tiniest bit of research, California has already increased its electric grids capacity by 9500GWH since 2021.

The dam that was just taken down wasn't generating electricity nor had it since 2006. When it did, it produced 108GWHs of power. Roughly 1% of the 9500 GWH in increase California has added in the last 3 years alone. And roughly 0.01% of the total power generation capacity of the grid.

You don't know what you're talking about. You never know you're talking about. You're an aggressively ignorant person.
In 2019, California’s net electricity imports were the largest in the country at 70.8 million megawatthours (MWh), or 25% of the state’s total electricity supply.

But Newsom is on it!
Millions are fleeing California. Soon only a single solar panel will be needed to supply the 45 residents of California.

If the dam was built in 1908 originally, then there are no salmon to save from it.
They are long gone, history.
No point in tearing it down now.
And even if the dam is structurally unsound, you can use it to hold back the water while another dam is built right next to it.
