Trump didn't have much in terms of basis to insist on ordering deploying troops at that time. I think that's why he lied about calling Newsom on the 9th - it fits the timeline of rioting better.


Bottom line is pretty simple - the Governor has never issued a request for troops and Trump has unilaterally deployed troops in California. A court has already found that act to be unconstitutional and tomorrow (that's June 17th for special people here) there will be an appeal hearing.
