News from Ukraine about Putin, Zelensky, Musk and Trump

A few days after Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Washington, social media accounts are claiming that the Ukrainian president recently bought a mansion in Florida. The posts show pictures of a lavish mansion and a document that looks like a US naturalisation certificate under his name. But both photos are fake: Zelensky did not buy a house in the US, nor did he become a US citizen.

I have never heard Putin ever claim he is ready for peace. He plans to rip off Ukraine and that is based on his own actions. Why we gang up on Zelensky is a major puzzle to me.
Oh, he's gonna be ready for peace real soon.

It's hard to read Zelensky on this, but the fact is that as long as the war continues, he has justification for keeping martial law in effect that prevents any election to replace him. On the other hand, Ukrainian media gives him high approval ratings and the implication is he would easily win re-election if elections were held. But they can't have an election with so much Ukrainian territory under Russian rule.

That and other excuses such as Zelensky doesn't trust Russia to maintain a cease fire and on and on makes negotiations difficult.

How will it all shake out? I don't think even President Trump knows at this time. But he is determined to end the war without hanging the Ukraine out to dry despite Zelensky being difficult.

Normally I would challenge the credibility of the article but not this time. Zelensky has to know how to deal with snakes. I pray for Ukraines sake he is really top notch at this event.

Ukraine has 30 biolabs and has a reputation of harvesting children's organs. And that is who we are enriching. This war is evil vs evil. And the American ATM just shut down.
Don't worry, Trump will hand it over to Putin. Don't try to book a flight to beautiful Ukraine.

Hey man, it ain't America that's next if Ukraine gets rolled over by Russia.
Who's next door to Ukraine? That's who should have already been in the fight full force.
And all their allies, too.
Hey Duke, you gave me a disagree over this crap with Putin. It is maybe a dozen posts above. I like to give you winners. Let me know about your rating of my post.

I was listening to Steve Forbes talking about that this morning. He said so far Zelensky mostly hasn't been willing to go behind the scenes and actually negotiate and then whined when he was excluded from the meeting with the US and Russia in Saudi Arabia. He has done all his 'negotiations' on television and that is not going to be productive. He needs to read Trump's books on making a deal and work out a deal to accomplish his most important goals knowing that always requires some compromise.

There is already a deal on the table that, with a bit of tweaking, is one he really cannot reasonably refuse. I don't know if the guy is good or bad but he isn't coming across as very wise and he increasingly gives the appearance of liking his dictator status.

I don't see Putin as a good guy in any way but the situation is what it is. He is the President of Russia and we have to deal with him as the President of Russia. And whatever else he is, Putin is also smart. To fail to realize that Putin will look to his own interests as Trump is looking to ours is to make peace impossible.

Without any comment on the reliability of this source as I don't know anything about it, it does illustrate the problem if Zelensky is in fact intentionally sabotaging peace:

"Zelensky’s Lies Exposed, Sabotages Peace Wants War: Putin Ready for Talks, But Ukraine Refuses

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is under fire for allegedly blocking peace efforts and prolonging the war with Russia. As Russian President Vladimir Putin signals readiness for negotiations, Ukraine continues to resist diplomatic talks. Is Zelensky deceiving Ukrainians about the true prospects of peace? Watch the full report for shocking details on Ukraine’s war strategy and the geopolitical stakes."

Which Trump does not intend to allow to happen. Peace is in the interest of Zelensky, of Putin, of everybody in the Europe and Asia as well as the U.S. and Canada.

Meanwhile the EU is in pretty much turmoil trying to find a unified position in all this. They gave the Ukraine candidate for EU status when Russia invaded mostly out of sympathy for the Ukraine and to impress on Russia the severity of their displeasure. Russia was not at all impressed however.

The reason the Ukraine hasn't been considered for EU (or NATO) membership before is mostly due to the rampant corruption in that country. All European countries bordering Russia are in the EU except Belarus that maintains close economic and political ties with Russia and the Ukraine.

The one thing in all this that makes no sense though is that somehow the Ukraine joining NATO would compromise Russia's security when Finland, Estonia, and Latvia all bordering on Russia and all NATO members do not? I would like to see a reasoned and comprehensive discussion on that sometime.

That came from a BBC story linked below that several sources claim is from Russian disinformation. I don't know what the actual facts are. I do accept a pretty much universal evaluation that the Ukraine has been a very corrupt country and Zelensky has done little or nothing to correct that.

Even so I am pretty sure President Trump (and the EU) have no intention of allowing Putin to annex the Ukraine.

Our best best is a peace treaty that holds, however that can be obtained within reason, and then live with a cold war between those two countries.

The BBC story:

As for those biolabs, there is some question whether they exist and, if they do as reflected apparently from this 2022 article, they are mostly or all ours:
". . .The Pentagon said on Thursday that it has operated 46 biolabs in Ukraine handling dangerous pathogens, after previously dismissing the charges as Russian propaganda. . ."

But Politifact--said to have received USAID funding in the Biden administration--says that such labs do not exist:

Knowing what to believe these days is not for amateurs.

I don't really care who comes out of this conflict victorious.
I know. Believe me as old enough to say that is the case for many Americans during our Wars. And of course when two other nations are at war, Americans find they now think about money and our troops. So far this war is not using our own troops

You accurately point out that we the public get hammered with fake stories spread of course by the media.

Yes we do. And trying to decipher fact from fiction has become increasingly difficult to discern from the MSM/legacy media for the last few decades.

Just our taxpayer $$$ and military materiel without payment. Welfare for a war that we have no business taking sides in.
