New York public schools tell Trump administration they won't comply with DEI order

'New York state officials have told the Trump administration that they will not comply with its demands to end diversity, equity and inclusion practices in public schools, despite the administration’s threats to terminate federal education funding. Daniel Morton-Bentley, counsel and deputy commissioner of the state Department of Education, said in a letter dated Friday to the federal Education Department that state officials do not believe the federal agency has the authority to make such demands.

“We understand that the current administration seeks to censor anything it deems ‘diversity, equity & inclusion,’” he wrote. “But there are no federal or State laws prohibiting the principles of DEI.” Morton-Bentley also wrote state officials were “unaware” of any authority the federal Department of Education has to demand that states agree with its interpretation of court decisions or to terminate funding without a formal administrative process.’

Very good.

New York public schools is on the right side of history.

More states need to stand up and defy the fascist Trump regime.
Lmao what a bunch of clowns

Excellent! Can't wait for them to lose their federal funding while they prioritize race/gender over education.

Would this be what’s referred to as “pork”? Let’s take very much care of our military veterans, but let’s not decide our vice president will be a black female solely because she’s a fucking black female. See the difference fag boy? We can still take care of our military veterans without fucking running minorities to the front of everything to show how awesome we are it’s fucking retarded. Merit based hires are the only thing that makes sense

DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives should include and support disabled veterans, recognizing their unique experiences and contributions, and addressing potential barriers to their employment and integration into the workforce.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has implemented DEI initiatives to improve outreach to minorities, women, LGBTQ+ veterans, individuals with disabilities, and other groups.
However, some DEI initiatives at the VA have been canceled due to recent executive orders.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives generally encompass veterans and individuals with disabilities, recognizing them as distinct groups within the broader diversity landscape.

Or…..we can get rid of the retarded DEI crap and solely focus on our veterans? That doesn’t work for you?

Examples of DEI Initiatives:

Hiring and Recruitment: DEI initiatives often include preferential hiring for veterans and individuals with disabilities, as well as efforts to ensure that job descriptions and recruitment processes are accessible.

Training and Development: DEI initiatives may include training programs for employees on disability awareness and cultural sensitivity, as well as resources for veterans to transition into civilian careers.

Accessibility and Accommodation: DEI initiatives focus on making physical spaces and digital platforms accessible to individuals with disabilities, as well as providing reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities.

You’re quite brain dead i see. Hiring disabled veterans is a great thing. Lumping minorities into it is fucking retarded. See the difference

Racial Hatred is a very important part of the Progressive culture.
They will cling to their racial hatred because it empowers them.
The Left loves to wallow in their hate.

I'm curious, Trog. There are dozens of district judges trying to block Trump every which way; why or when will there be a judge to order the NY school district it must comply with the Fed in order to get federal benefits?

Maybe you didn't notice how much Trump hates veterans.
Not only does he call them "losers" and "suckers" but his anti-DEI means eliminating programs that give veterans preferential treatment.

In the context of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), veterans are seen as a valuable group that bring unique perspectives and experiences to organizations, and DEI programs often include tailored resources to support them. However, recent actions, like the Trump administration's executive order to end DEI initiatives, have raised concerns about the potential impact on veterans and their inclusion.

Trump never said that. Completely false.

Good point Toob

veteran status is considered a part of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as it falls under the broader category of protected characteristics and diverse backgrounds.
Bullshit. Military personnel sign a contract and earn their status by serving. Veterans are not some random off the street that gets preference because skin color or gender.
