Since the Pacers knocked the Knicks out of the playoffs, we've been subjected to a constant string of whines from media talking heads from across the media spectrum.
ESPN, Fox News, Good Morning Football on the NFL Network this morning.
You'd think that the Knicks were the worst team in the league.
Nothing tastes as sweet as sour grapes from the whiners in the media.
I hate the media.

The silver lining all of this:
It's good New York didn't win another championship, because winning in NYC is worse than losing.
There's no difference between New York fans, when they win, than a BLM riot.
It's worse than the worst event in human history, Jan 6th.
It's worse than dropping the bomb on Hiroshima.

So listening to spoiled New York fans in the media is especially satisfying, because it just shows us how they think they're so privileged.
Even though the Knicks made it most of the way thru the playoffs, the owners still fired their head coach. Must have been because of his hair. If he had a full head of hair would he still have a job?

If the spoiled New York fans expect perfection from their teams, then firing an overachieving HC is a good place to start, if you want to become a loser again.

It just goes to show you.......

It was a stupid move by an owner who wants to be the show....ala Jerry Jones. Dolan has always had that need for an ego massage, wondering why he isn't a bigger deal in NYC than Jones is in Dallas. His team will end up the way Jones teams end up....not winning anything. :)

Knicks forget how horrible they were the last 25 years
They forget that Thibidoux brought them back to respectability
They forget the Knicks knocked off last years champs the Celtics

We can do better

Bad owners often screw up.

Just look at the Chicago Bulls owner....or the LA Clippers owner.

So far Leon Rose has been doing his job, have to give him some room to figure this team out.

For once, i don't think Dolan had anything to do with this.

I’m a huge Knicks fan and I disagree with firing Thibs. I actually think we overachieved this year, and now with the firing of Thibs I look for us to take a step back.

I disagree with firing him, but I can understand it. They had the "fix this shit" coach, now they need the "finish this shit" coach.

The problem is what coach could we hire that’s an upgrade. Maybe Danny Hurley or Jay Wright. Besides those guys the field of quality coaches without jobs is scarce.

Not disagreeing with you at all on that point.

Of course they fired the coach after what happened game one in MSG

With just under three minutes to play and with the roar of their Madison Square Garden crowd behind them, the Knicks led the Indiana Pacers by 14 points.

By their own admission, the defeat stemmed from the Knicks failing to run through the finish line.

"Defensively, we let off the gas.

The Pacers managed to shoot 6-for-6 over that span; five of those makes were 3-pointers, and four of them came from Aaron Nesmith, who caught fire to finish with 30 points.

"He got too much air space," Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said afterward.

When your team loses after being up 14 with 3 minutes to go, that's bad coaching.

I remember one play where Karl-Anthony Towns had the ball at the 3 with 20 seconds on the shot clock. He threw up an air ball. How did he not know to milk that clock all the way down to 5 seconds before he shoots the ball? A good coach would have called Time Out after that airball and sat Mr. Towns on the bench.

I didn't see the game.

I stopped watching the NBA when Jordan retired.

I started with Magic Bird, fell in love with the Bad Boys, hated Jordan but appreciate I got to witness it because these punk young kids think Lebron is the GOAT. Imagine you put Jordan's brain in Lebron. Lebron would have 10 titles.

But you've missed a lot. The other day the sports guys reminded me of 2005 Phoenix Suns team Nash, Stoudemire, Marion. You missed that year?

They lost G1 up 20pts late. Yeah, a coach should share some blame for that.

The owner paid some mediocre players (I could name names) big money, bad owners don’t win many titles either. Fire himself?

INDY was better skilled at every posistion but rebounding thug. INDY played better overall. NY over-achieved with less skilled players. NY beat DET. INDY mpooed the floor with #1 seed CLEVE. //

How about title winner Malone? Just a thought.

Would DEN have won this year if they did not fire Malone the last week?

Or not sign Westbrick and let him make 6 turnovers at the worst times? Or not play him in close late game playoffs? The new coach did OK? But Malone had past experiences.

I wish they kept Randall. He's so ugly he belongs on the Knicks. That's 1.

Two, get rid of Towns. He's good, but not GREAT.

3. The Greek Freak will take his place.

Towns is medicre off-on at high pay. They don’t lose that game if they milk some clock up 20. It still took that big bounce off the rim, straight up from top of key to force OT. Just one more FT….NY wins. But you can always say that too.

The Bulls used to play a game every Sunday....and that got me hooked on the NBA.

The reason I followed Larry Bird is because of that national championship game he played in.

NBA games don't have the same feel to them anymore.

Pistons, Jazz, Bulls, Celtics, Knicks, Lakers.......those were the teams to follow.

But when Jordan retired....most of my interest in the league went out the door with him.

It's like baseball. I used to listen to the World Series on the radio.

I played baseball growing up.

But when they went on strike.....I lost interest.

Only thing I watch now is NFL, NCAAFB, and Hockey.

I blame Towns, and the coach. One play in particular. Towns has the ball with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. 2-3 minutes left in the game. You can do either one of two things. Tell me which one you would do.

a. Do not shoot right away. Eat up 15 of those 20 seconds before you shoot. If you do that each time you have the ball, you won't lose. They might even foul you and send you to the line.

OR

b. Put up a 3 with 20 seconds on the shot clock, 2-3 minutes left. If you make it, game over.

Towns wanted to make the 3 and end the game that way. But it was the DUMMY way. It wasn't smart. The smart way would be to eat up 23.9 seconds on the shot clock. But he's clearly playing hood ball. Ghetto ball says take the 3 quickly. LOL.

I like the guy. I hope he proves me wrong.

Another guy like him I don't think will ever get his due. Joel Embiid stuck on the 76rs. Also Trae Young stuck in Atlanta.

To be honest I don’t think Malone is an upgrade to Thibs. He’s a good coach and suitable replacement, but I don’t think he’s a guy to get over the championship hump with. Unless we somehow get Danny Hurley or Jay Wright, which doesn’t look good, I expect the team to take a step back next season.
