In reality, it's not the video game itself, it's the missing responsibility the so-called "parents" are supposed to have over the child.
The kids sit there for HOURS a day playing these things. A lot of kids have DIED from being addicted to video games so badly, they don't eat, they don't sleep, they don't drink water, they just sit there. Of COURSE they are going to die!

I had a vectrex I was a kid 40 years ago and I've had almost every console ever since. Even today I play my PC or PS5 almost ever day, switch I use once in a while. Never passed out, had heart problems or any other side effects. Now I have not known any of the hundred people who play games during my life that had those problems.

If they did, we would know by now. But they don't know and that's why they have no proof beyond "because I said so".
