i think you'll find some significant differences between the agricultural and hunter/gatherer cultures but , like most aspects of the "founding myth" the rough edges have been polished off in the telling.

mac, there is an age appropriateness to how we teach history. kindegartners probably should hear about the first thanksgiving and the possibility of sharing, but i'm not sure about when the trail of tears or what we would now call atrocities like scalping and such.

So basically, it is human nature to be territorial and to fight for land and resources for your own survival so that the strongest survive, just that, it was THEIR LAND and territory to fight over, until Europeans move in and stole it from them because they enjoyed about a 5,000 year advancement in technology.

The teaching attitude that should be followed by the last year of high school history and certainly by freshmen level college history.

"And here is what bothers me so much about modern "scholarship." At what point did history become ethics? Why should we subvert the elusive search for facts to moralist concerns? So what if they are on or off the hook? If you want to be a preacher, go preach. If you want to save the world, go into politics. If you want to invent a world free of evil, take prozac. It was said in Ecclesiastes and it still is true today, people suck. They did then, all of them. THey do now, all of us.History is the history of self-interested, competing, aggressive, selfish, murderous humans. At what point did it become a morality play? "-Dave WIlliams, George mason Univ.

Peddling the Stuck In The Sixties hippie doper nonsense should be cause for firing teachers, not hiring them.

Actually, this has been known for centuries. It is just that the lies of the leftoids keep drowning the facts out.

BTW, Christopher Columbus was a great man.

lol check out the mass cannibalism of the Aztecs, murdering tens of thousands of people at a time and dividing the body part to the survivors to eat. But we're supposed to feel bad about the Conquistadors and Europeans. Hilarious.

Hollywood and forced white guilt waits for no one

I agree that the unpleasantness of history should be introduced to small children gradually

But I doubt if the left will agree to that

Lets ask our most strident Indian SJW , Lakhota what she thinks about it

Yet the Native Americans lacked one unifying undertone, a religion that claims it is a religion of love, Christianity

all people the same. what is the most bizarre here, that our snowflake intellectuals just refuse to talk about total extermination of Megafauna by " natives " all over the world. And how it has changed the planet earth forever.
I just googled it , and I GOT THIS CRAP : The extinction of megafauna around the world was probably due to environmental and ecological factors.

religion has a civilizing influence. or should.

They were called the five civilized tribes that lived under a peace treay.

Rubbish. You know nothing about them. Andrew Jackson had first hand experience with them in wartime and peace, Even if they were 'civilized', 5 out of hundreds of tribes isn't an impressive stat, except to drooling stoners.

I am sure you believe you are superior to God

With all due respect to the Native American population, Europeans were building cathedrals while American Indians were slaughtering each other for buffalo meat. There had to be a clash of societies sooner or later and it seems the North American indigenous population overrun by mostly Anglo Saxons was better off than the South American indigenous population that was plundered and raped into submission by the Spanish conquistadores.
