In a Republic, actually
Approval down to 42% (53% disapprove). Disapproval high on economy (54%), federal workforce (54%), Ukraine-Russia (55%), trade w/Mexico (56%), trade w/Canada (58%). 62% think supporting Ukraine is in our national interest.

By 60% to 33%, respondents oppose eliminating the Department of Education.

By 57% to 35%, respondents think unvaccinated children should not be allowed to attend schools or childcare facilities.

The consequence of their fear, ignorance, and stupidity, the voters voted for Trump for one reason only – he’d be ‘good’ on the economy, however ignorant and wrongheaded.

The voters don’t want Trump to abandon democratic allies, wage trade wars, or destroy the government.

The poll that matters happened in November.

Now he has his hands full but if he stays the course the U.S will finally be out of a deficit, bring back manufacturing and use tariffs to pay down the debt/help struggling industries.

You know China hit Canada with a 100% tariff and few even talked about it here. Why not?

We know that America is the golden goose that's why.

"supporting ukraine"? vague to the point of meaningless.

I want peace. I want a peace where ukraine survives as a free nation. I think that Trump is the best guy to get there. If you ask me if I support ukraine, I would say YES.

I don't support endless war.

That you are playing such games, that the poll is playing such games, makes it garbage.

This is March ya cluck.

Yes, raising the debt trillions of dollars is surely how you do that.
This is the problem your non-discretionary spending is too high and it's why Trump is going to be forced to apply tariffs across the board.

If the world doesn't understand this, they should realize that all of the years that THEY were collecting billions in tariffs and not funding their militaries, America was engaging in precisely the opposite.

If you have been collecting tariffs of even just 10% on average across the board, how much less debt would you have today? How much less to spend each year in interest costs?

America raised approx. $80B last year in tariffs. Imagine what the number will be if Trump sticks to his guns? Perhaps $300-400B a year? Over his four years that would be $1.2-1.6T, which would almost wipe out your annual deficit.

China earned tens of billions a year in tariffs and they are a far bigger theft in terms of exports to import ratios and other barriers.

Mexico raises approx. $15B a year and they are an exporter! More than half of Bahamas government revenue is through tariffs.

Trump is bringing in an old school model that works because of how much larger a consumer the U.S is. Your debt is a major anchor and Trump has to leave office looking like the greatest economic savior in U.S history to decrease it.

The situation is not ideal, but the alternative quite possibly could lead to millions maybe billions of dead humans if America is not top dog.

I'm not simple, I'm providing a simple, brute set of policies that MUST be enacted because the U.S is underwater. Do you not appreciate this?

All of these decades I knew Canada needed to save money. They didnt have to spend on the military. They greased some palms to get jobs and their importers in the U.S didnt need to pay tariffs. They had a trade agreement with the greatest economic consumer in world history.

Yet, with all of that, no military funding AND massive taxes, these fools still managed to gain massive debt due to a huge S.I.C at all levels of government.

Musk is not stupid and every investing expert I've heard from has said the same thing "America MUST decrease its debt".

China should be the primary target and so far they have been, but no country is going to avoid this, the U.S is in bad fiscal shape. This is the sad reality I've been screaming since it was $16T

I've always thought it was going to be difficult for Trump to hold the line, so much pressure and efforts to persuade him through media, polls, the market, data etc, but so far he's held very strong.

Schumer even called out Elon today when he said he would sign the Bill to fund government. Trump knows what has to be done and he chosen people to get the U.S there in spite of the pushback. That's leadership who is genuinely looking for generational change. The path of the last 30 years is not sustainable, you can't hollow out your nations workers for easy profits in slave labour countries and nations who abuse your markets.
