Few Voters Say Trump’s Second Term Has Made the Country Better, Poll Finds

Half the country feels they are worse off than they were one year ago, including over half of independents, with only a third feeling they are better off. Voters feel that he's made America increasingly polarized with 42% of voters feeling he may turn out to be the worst president in American history.

Less than a third of voters think the country is better off than it was when President Trump returned to the White House a year ago, with a wide majority saying he has focused on the wrong issues, according to a new poll from The New York Times and Siena University.

A majority of voters disapprove of how Mr. Trump has handled top issues including the economy, immigration, the war between Russia and Ukraine and his actions in Venezuela. And significantly, a majority of Americans, 51 percent, said that Mr. Trump’s policies had made life less affordable for them.

All told, 49 percent of voters said the country was worse off than a year ago, compared with 32 percent who said it was better.

Fake headline. The correct headline: 32% of nation is dumb as ****, the rest admit Trump has not improved America.

I like his tariffs and his tightening up the border, dislike his spending, taking Maduro out of office, the rest is pretty much like all presidents, not much different.

Obama would have kicked his ass
President Obama was the ultimate government stooge who followed the globalist designs. He was not good at getting things done in front of everyone. The sellouts from underlings were much different though. Trump is a New Yorker who went through the trenches.

/----/ Another low number fake poll to gin up the ever-decreasing democRAT base.
Based on a New York Times/Siena poll of 1,625 registered voters nationwide conducted Jan. 12 to 17.

The gray segment is for voters who did not respond or said they didn’t know.

But it doesn't matter what they say because at the next election 98% of them who vote will still choose one or the other.
True.

This is born (sp?) out by a recent thing on NPR. They sent a reporter into counties Trump won by greater than a 2/3 margin to ask how his supporters are doing. Some liked what was going on but by and large the following 2 takeways:

They’re disappointed that prices are still sky high.
They’d still vote for him again.

Makes no sense but that is life in blobber-ville.

I stopped reading after your first sentence.

No politician is going to fix things at this stage. Trump's closing of the border was a long-past-due first step, but this country's problems are decades in the making. NAFTA and runaway national debt, plus an open border for many years are how we got here.

Better get used to it. It's not going to get better.

You simply can't borrow 37 trillion of debt and think that the bill isn't eventually going to have to be paid.

You poor dear. Ole’ Stumblebum isn’t coming back.

After his first term, historians considered Trump to be one of the four worst Presidents in history. Mostly because of his refusal to peacefully transition the presidency.

After the chaos of his first year, it is doubtful anyone will deny Trump is the worst in history.

As badly as history will view Trump, it will view those who heard what he planned to do and still elected him
"Historians" being code for leftists.

Nothing but a FAKE DISTRACTION from the utter CHAOS the demented LEFT have wrought over the last DECADE.
Did you see Jack Smith getting DESTROYED yesterday?
Quick, look at tHis PoLL. 🤡

Oddly, even noted conservative historians rate Trump poorly.
These are people who spend their lives studying presidents and their impact on history.

Does not look good for Trump or those who elected him

That MEME is funny.

Lefties are too indoctrinated to admit something that flames them can be funny.

Polls find 90% of Republicans support Trump.

We all got locked minded when we voted for a Party,
instead of voted for the BEST qualified person running for the job.

I'm actually doing better, but I've done better every year despite who the president has been: Trump, Biden, Obama, Bush. I make myself better. I don't need a politician to do it for me
Bet you were doing really when when gasoline prices went over $4.00 a gallon, and food prices soared?

I mainly work from home, so fuel prices weren't much of an issue, and when I do travel to other cities for work it's paid for by my employer.

He promised retribution.

That is the priority of the people who support him; not good government.

Did you use Grub Hub for your food deliveries?

Has there ever been a time when voters said they were better off now than they were before? I can't remember one.

I haven't seen a poll that was right in at least 10 years, 15 years for democrat polls.

The country is GREATER, without a crooked joe regime sabotaging America!
