The leader of the rebellion, Toussaint Louverture, saw his people losing the revolution, badly. He prayed to Satan for help. In exchange he consecrated Haiti to Satan and all of its people. The tide of the revolution changed and became a bloodbath. Every French was slaughtered, men, women, children, infants. All in the name of and to the glory of Satan.

The religion of Haiti is Roman Catholic with evident overtones and undertones of Vudu. On the other side of the island, the Dominican Republic does not share in this belief and has been successful. No country destabilizes Haiti. It has nothing anyone would want. There is no particular benefit to destabilization.
