The bill would, among other things, require people wanting to carry guns in public to purchase liability insurance — the first statewide mandate of its kind in the nation should the bill become law — and banning guns from being carried in 25 broad categories, including but not limited to government buildings, health care facilities, airports, casinos and private properties where the owners have not given express permission to have guns. Violations would be deemed a third-degree crime...

The PROBLEM is there is no sort of penalty for shit like this.

New Jersey is engaged in criminal behavior. By all rights, anyone who voted on this and the governor who signed it should go to jail for willfully breaking the law.

But the MOST that will happen is that a court of appeals will grant an injunction to stop the felonious behavior of the state until the law is deemed unconstitutional.

None of the scum pushing this will face any sort of criminal charges for their criminal acts. I want to see law makers go to jail for openly defying the Constitution.

Of course you're correct, which is why such legislation wouldn't survive very long in a legal challenge.

It makes you wonder, though. If someone in Trenton gets into an argument with someone else, draws his concealed firearm and aerates the guy he's arguing with, he should be good to go, right? The insurance will take care of it...
