NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The FBI has opened a widening investigation into sex abuse in the Roman Catholic Church in New Orleans going back decades, a rare federal foray into such cases looking specifically at whether priests took children across state lines to molest them, officials and others familiar with the inquiry told The Associated Press.

More than a dozen alleged abuse victims have been interviewed this year as part of the probe that’s exploring among other charges whether predator priests can be prosecuted under the Mann Act, a more than century-old, anti-sex trafficking law that prohibits taking anyone across state lines for illicit sex.

Some of these cases go back years but Catholics probably better get their checkbooks out again. Many priests never were held accountable. I can't understand why we are so willing to overlook abuses by politicians or clergy.

Hell, a Cardinal, Theodore McCarrick, was dismissed from the clerical state, and subjected to the legal process over this. That is, by all rights, equivalent in the secular world, to subjecting at least a Senator to legal sanction.

I'm just sayin', it's old news compared to all the shit that is being covered up in the secular STATE.

I somehow, can't imagine a powerful Senator, (or maybe. . . president or son of president?) being subjected to investigation and sanction, if they were up to their eyeballs in crime and corruption today, if they were doing the bidding of powerful global stake holder interests.
