Name a successful Socialist nation.
Don't say Scandinavian nations as they are most definitely NOT socialist. Their foreign ministers have come out and said they are NOT socialist, but rather, free market capitalist nations with "some" social programs and the middle-income earners are taxed heavier than the rich because, in their opinion, taxing the rich would stifle innovation. As a matter of fact, if we look at socialist/communist nations, we see that they have to initially "steal" technology from the west and adapt it to work for them.
So, no innovation there.
Also, when governments take over food production, mass starvation is the first thing they experience.
Another thing the Socialist/Communist governments like to claim is that they "eliminate" the classes. In a sense, true. They eliminate the middle-class and moderately wealthy and render the vast majority of their population, poor, with the exception of the inner politburo party members, who can travel around the world and enjoy themselves.
True Socialist governments don't allow opposition parties, becoming authoritarian governments with the supreme leaders really being the "dictators."
What's ludicrous is that they lie to the public to convince the public to vote them in and once in, claim they are Democratic, even giving their nation's titles like "Democratic" or "People's Republic," yet not being Democratic because as I said above, they eliminate all opposition groups.
