Never Seems To Get Old....

"You really think no effect?"

If you're asking me, it's hard to say what effect Obama may have in the future. Negative politics can be a very effective tool, and if Trump and the GOP can't get their act together and do something positive for the country then I think it's anybody's guess as to which party will get more seats and power in 2018 and 2020. Will the Dems continue to run on the Obama platform? Telling people we'll give you free stuff and raise taxes on the rich guys to pay for it is a strong incentive for many to vote democratic.

Hillary lost last time cuz many Dems that supported Obama in 2008 and 2012, but what if this time those who voted for Trump and the GOP stay home, who wins then? Suppose the Dems find a more popular candidate who runs a better campaign, what then? We could be entering a period of time where first one party gets voted in and 4 years later the other one does. And it goes back and forth until the country changes significantly for better or worse; if for the better then that party gets to keep power for a longer period of time, but if for the worse the the other party gets swept in and maybe stays for a longer time.

They lost for a number of reasons....but this is a major explanation:

"The Future of the Obama Coalition
By THOMAS B. EDSALL NOVEMBER 27, 2011 11:34 PM November 27, 2011 11:34 pm
For decades, Democrats have suffered continuous and increasingly severe losses among white voters. But preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class."

But preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class.

"All pretense of trying to win a majority of the white working class has been effectively jettisoned in favor of cementing a center-left coalition made up, on the one hand, of voters who have gotten ahead on the basis of educational attainment — professors, artists, designers, editors, human resources managers, lawyers, librarians, social workers, teachers and therapists — and a second, substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic."

"if Trump and the GOP can't get their act together and do something positive for the country then I think it's anybody's guess"
I think you're right.

The victory was.....miraculous.

And....Trump doing the things that he promised and America needs is an uphill battle against the Democrats, the media, and many if not most Republicans.

Either America wins, or the Left does.

If you can't develop a better plan for prosperity then attack the other party with any other issue whether it's true or not. The Dems are masters at it.

I believe....maybe I hope....that they will kick the radicals, socialists, and certifiably insane out of the leadership of the party, and become an American party again.

They must be aware of this:

"Rural Democrats: Party Ignored Us, Suffered the Consequences : Strategists and party officials say their warnings about the party’s lackluster outreach to rural voters went unheeded by Democratic leaders for years, culminating in this month’s shock defeat to Donald Trump. A presidential candidate who actually performed poorly in many cities and suburbs nonetheless scored an upset victory because of a surge in support from small towns and rural areas. - See more at: Rural Democrats: Party Ignored Us, Suffered the Consequences

The most difficult feat is gonna be re-educating the half-head acolytes who post on this board, and having them reverse course.
Lots of 'em have stopped screaming 'but....but....Russia!'.....and 'impeach'!!!!!

Doesn't look like the Dems have changed course any.

The week after Trump was elected, I started this thread, predicting a turnabout by the Democrats:
You White Folks Are Gonna Benefit...

I claim the following as a BIG change!

1. "A Missouri state senator said ... that she hopes President Donald Trump is assassinated.
Maria Chappelle-Nadal acknowledged on Thursday that she wrote a post which read: “I hope Trump is assassinated!”
Missouri Senator: ‘I Hope Trump Is Assassinated!’

2. Frankly, I assumed that this is consistent with much of the Democrat/Liberal rhetoric....and nothing would happen to this moron....she is a Democrat, and black, and that combination is usually a 'get out of jail' card.

3. But....rather than the usual Democrats circling the wagons,.....they piled on with normal people....the Republicans....and demanded she resign!

4. "USA Today reported Missouri Democratic. Sen. Claire McCaskill criticized Chappelle-Nadal, saying, “It’s outrageous. And she should resign.” Missouri Democratic Rep. Lacy Clay also denounced the Facebook post.

Missouri State Senate Democratic leader Gina Walsh called the comment “horrible” and said her behavior has “no place in our caucus.”

Somethin' new is blowin' in the wind!!!
