Never mind transitional species.

For fossils to exist, the animal has to die in specific circumstances. For example jungles won't make fossils. So we know NOTHING about dinosaurs that lived in jungles.

Fossils are pretty rare.
Critters that didn't make the cut should make up most of the fossil record. Those not "selected" should make up the lion's share of fossils.

Why?

Everything dies.

Not everything dies in a way that leads it to be a fossil.

Nothing out there made the cut. Dinosaurs from Jurassic didn't survive to later eras.

The "cut" = selected evolutionary changes.

How many needles in haystacks do you find daily?
The needles would be those changes that were selected. The haystack was those that missed the cut. So, the haystack would be the primary evidence, not the needles.

Garfish. bowfin, turtles and tortoises, alligator ,crocodiles all have been here millions of years. I understand the subject of the thread. Those not making the cut are found in fossils like the sea creature found in England recently. Although a major predator in its time it didn't make the cut to survive and change to the changing environment. Lets all be glad about that.:)

That's not the question.

Well, maybe if you went out there and did some research into how fossils are formed, how fossils aren't formed, maybe the question wouldn't be so rubbish and people wouldn't need to ask you other questions to try and get you to understand something you could have researched yourself.

If this topic has been researched at all the results have been kept under lock and key. This thread is meant to evoke some thought out about why the creatures that failed to survive and pass their evolutionary changes on have left no fossils. All we have are fossils that were successful.

Everywhere ... or do you think dinosaurs still roam the Earth ... HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW ...

Bubba didn't finish Middle School ...
The dinos made the cut. They just couldn't survive a sudden environmental catastrophe. Good swimmers drown, rock climbers fall, snake handler get bit, etc.
