Well, kiss my ass, something decent on Netflix for a change.....I don't even mind the "strong woman" angle....They had to be to survive.....Pre-Civil War expansion was no joke.

Two episodes in and I really like it. It's almost like six-hour The Revenant.

Movies like this are at least 2 years in the making.

Netflix stays making great films.

Their growing subscriber numbers, viewership and revenue bears this out.

I just watched it for the first time last night.

Good so far.

I can forgive the obligatory "strong woman," because I find that Morman woman appealing somehow.

I didn't know about Jim Bridger's life, the song doesn't do him justice. It seems he liked his women cafe ole'.

She has that "look" about her sure enough.

Not impressed. It features mostly on that bullheaded woman and her kid. Kid is ok. Woman is a pain in the ass. All the situations they find themselves in are due to her not listening or doing as she is told to survive that situation. I would have left her sorry ass on the wayside long ago. On the other hand, the mormon lady captured by indians? She has more common sense. But I already wrote the story before I even finished the 5th episode of season 1. When I can write what the outcome will be, then it's not a very good movie.

The blood and gore is what everyone tunes in for. I would rather learn more of the NA ways back then and scenery that is NOT scalping or rape or hangings or whatever they toss in there.

To me, this is not entertainment where one learns something. Nope. Its just Freddie Kruger meets the wild west.

This is a great series. It's unfortunate that it is such a limited series (six episodes). The attack on the wagon train was based on the Mormon 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre. What they failed to show was that the Mormons who attacked the wagon train, took the "little" children to raise them as Mormons. It's when a church's (or mosque's) leader gives permission to kill women and children, the leader isn't following any God, only evil.

Enjoyed this a lot, though the scenes were pretty gory in spots. Excellent acting and production, and an interesting portrayal of Brigham Young (who probably was a sociopath of some type).

From what I understand the LDS don't think much of it.....I guess an accurate depiction of the Mountain Meadows Massacre will do that. ;)

Watching the film I could predict the arguments. "But the Christians, the Christians--they launched the Crusades!" Yeah well it was hundreds and hundreds of years after Christ, not the fathers of the faith doing it. Brigham Young being a murderous sociopath would be on par with Paul or Peter seeing the resurrected Jesus, then leading a killing army to establish a kingdom. That.....didn't happen. Should be a red flag for Mormons but it is what it is

Basically, the founders were just horny men that wanted to dip their wicks into more than one woman on a regular basis and created their absurd religion to meet their needs and also had no problem with doing it with girls too young for them.

Um....if by "founders" you mean early Mormons, yes.

I’m still waiting for part 2 of Kevin Costner’s Horizon movie.

Not normally a big fan of the Western genre, but that is a good movie

Leading Indicator
You know what's a leading indicator?

The spike of foreign films on Netflix over the past few years.

Like Squid Game, which is an anti-corporate series.

If it rains in Kansas, you dolts give credit to Trump.

Expansion of the Mormon territory.

Was this series funded by the LDS?
