Actually, socialism and ever old school communism did and still work great. When was the last time you saw a poor socialist leader of a poor socialist country? Was Maduro living the same standard of living as the Venezuelans? Is Castro living the same life as most cubans? Why do socialist leaders always live in magnificent palaces and the people live in squalor? I thought socialism was all about equality? Socialism works great for those in power, but it sucks for those who are not. That being said, Capitalism can be brutal to the lazy, and is not perfect by a country mile and needs some regular adjustments, but at least those who are not absolutely friggin' lazy have the opportunity to make something of themselves and even rise to live just like socialist monarchs.
