While I would not be considered a "fan" of the NBA in any year, I think much of the drop in viewership can be placed directly at the outsized feet of King LeBron himself. He has shown himself to be not only an insufferable Social Justice Warrior, but a bit of an idiot, to boot.

The white people who watch this shit can well do without being lectured on morality by an uneducated, self-pitying multimillionaire.

I note with some satisfaction that the honorable Mark Cuban has tacitly acknowledged that an NBA franchise has become a financial loser. Although his ownership of the contracts of two foreign-but-white superstars puts him in the position of being one of the few profitable franchises going forward.

Both Game 1 and Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the L.A. Lakers and the Miami Heat have suffered the worst ratings crash in the league’s entire TV broadcast history.

Despite the matchup including two of the league’s biggest stars (LeBron James and Anthony Davis), Game 1 of the Finals on Wednesday was a huge ratings disappointment for the NBA.

Game 1 averaged only a 4.1 rating and 7.41 million viewers on ABC, “comfortably the lowest rated and least-watched NBA Finals game on record (dates back to 1988),” Sports Media Watch reported.
