Nasa announces alien life could be thriving on Saturn’s moon Enceladus
13 April 2017 • 7:33pm
It might look like a frozen wasteland, but beneath the inhospitable surface of Saturn’s moon Enceladus, life could be thriving in warm underground seas, scientists believe.

Nasa’s Cassini spacecraft has picked up the first evidence that chemical reactions are happening deep below the ice which could be creating an environment capable of supporting microbes.

Experts said the discovery was ‘the last piece’ in the puzzle which proved that life was possible on Enceladus, a finding all the more remarkable because the small moon is 887 million miles away from the Sun.

Hopefully we'll be able to get a probe sub to go into the oceans of this moon and see what separate evolution can do.

Imagine oceans deeper then earths...This really doesn't surprise me.

They will hate Hillary too, once they get to know her.

Idiotic. We're supposed to spend billions for a probe to search for "life" on a moon that can't sustain life.

Spend the money for manned or robotic missions to planets and moons with natural resources to exploit for manufacturing.

We'd need a vehicle that can: drill through miles of ice, explore the seas, send back data through the ice to a relay that would retransmit the data to Earth.

Let's do it!

I'll bet we find coral and jellyfish there too. They all arrived on Earth, Europa and Enceladus the same way: on comets and asteroids

I actually just had to write a paper about Saturn and its two moons that have the potential to support life, Europa and Enceladus. Despite them being much farther from the sun than us, they are able to get warmth from Saturn itself because of its gravitational pull and it being a large Jovian planet.

Some believe that life on Earth developed from a different planet initially... where an asteroid struck another planet that had life picking it up as a passenger and eventually crashing to Earth as a meteorite introducing the new life to Earth... of which everything evolved. We know this could have happened as we have found meteorites older than Earth itself.

The real source of energy is the strong magnetic fields around Saturn. This generates tremendous amount of radiation (energy).
