First off you are trying to lean on semantics there….Trump doesn’t request, or order troops for domestic security. What he did was have a conversation with the pentagon, who then took the offer to mayor Bowser, who turned the assistance down…This is documented….period.

According to your article, the Pentagon asked Trump to authorize as many as 20,000 NG deployed to the Capitol.

That never happened.

So not only is there no evidence Trump ever asked for 10K-20K NG, now we see he rejected having the NG present at the Capitol.

Trump's Secretary of Defense could get the D.C. National Guard deployed. All Trump had to do was tell him to do it.

And the conversation with the Pentagon was the Pentagon seeking his approval for deploying the National Guard, which Trump apparently rejected.
