How will it cost them billions of dollars in damages? Governments use their machines or they don't.

If the U.S government followed the path of every other Western government and banned computer voting in their federal elections I can see their point, but, America will remain the sole outlier and the machines will still be there in 2024, for better or worse, and much longer I'm sure.

Read comments from around the globe, even as media in the West repeat the same narratives in their countries it seems that citizens use a little more common sense than billionaire or state own media give them credit for and they at least raise the important questions.

A younger generation who understand how coding works far better than their parents will only increase skepticism of safe elections via software.
