I don't know what model number it is but it has all the bells and whistles. Auto trans, gps driven. Just loaded
Anywhoo his transmission oil had filings in it so he priced a new one.
John Deere refused to rebuild it cuz they didn't wanna stand behind the warranty. but they would exchange the tranny thru John Deere
wow $50,000 out the door.

I'm surprised John Deere didn't have your friend arrested for doing his own work on his own John Deere tractor. That's a sin in John Deere land (last I heard).

With newer machines that don't have a lot of hours on them, it's actually normal and expected to find metal shavings on a first/second trans oil change.

But I don't know how old your neighbor's tractor is or how many hours it has on it.

You said it has ''all the bells and whistles,'' so I'm just guessing it's newer.

Has he ever changed the trans oil before?
