Republican states spend less on education that Democratic states.

Republican states generally have fewer people in them needing educated, so why shouldn't they spend less?

And apparently, it only costs 1/5th as much to educate a republican to the high school graduate level as with a democrat.

With democrats, they need several extra years just to learn DEI, CRT, gender is a choice, boys can play in girl sports, and that America really is a sucky place after all.

By then, republicans have already graduated and have 3 years in working at their first job already.

While many conservative Republicans opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, viewing it as an intrusion by the state, Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen of Illinois played a pivotal role in its passage.

Dirksen worked with Majority Leader Mike Mansfield and other Democrats to craft a compromise bill and gain the necessary support to overcome a Southern Democrat-led filibuster in the Senate.

A coalition of 27 Republicans and 44 Democrats voted for cloture, ending the filibuster (again, by Democrats) and paving the way for the bill's passage.

The final vote in the Senate was 73-27 in favor of the bill, with 82% of Senate Republicans voting in favor, compared to 69% of Democrats.
