My first time in Life getting something delivered by UPS

You can't unless you make it a point to be home when the package arrives. If it has to be signed for they will ring your doorbell or knock on your door. Every once in awhile we get such a package and that has been how it has been handled. Nobody notified us the delivery was on the way. And if we didn't order the package there was no way to track it.

I thought part of the notification was for the person to be contacted so they can meet the driver at the door

Porch pirates are still a thing.
And people do follow UPS and FedEx trucks looking for specific boxes to be unloaded (in the big cities)

Here in microcity nowheresville....a different set of rules apply. Porch pirates have a difficult time walking after doing it one time. And it's not like we don't know where they live.

I just went on my phone and clicked track and see a UPS truck symbol in my neighborhood down the street. Im about to go outside now with my ID lol

I am so fucking mad right now. I saw the UPS man in front of my door and said HEY!!!. So he was parked in front of the door and when he went back inside the truck I thought he was going to get my package. So im standing there waiting for this asshole to come back outside the truck with my package and I hear him start the truck and pull off. Not realizing he dropped a package off in front of the door that wasnt mine. Im so fucking pissed right now

Don't give up. Other than groceries, we have almost everything we buy delivered to the house. And sometimes we have several different packages delivered on the same day. Sometimes they all arrive on the same truck but it is not unusual for two or three different UPS trucks to arrive during the day.

Or you can call the seller and make sure your order is supposed to be delivered today. Sometimes the automated notification systems screw up. (That is one reason I am not looking forward to a world that goes completely AI and we no longer have human beings handling things.)

Sometimes they all arrive on the same truck but it is not unusual for two or three different UPS trucks to arrive during the day.

Me and my deliveries?
I'm restoring an 1890's Queen Anne Victorian house. Copper roof caps, new turret topper with weather vane, installing gutters, rewiring, and siding/trim replacement and repairs. New wraparound porch too. Alot of custom work and mill work. (Working shutters too)

Ought to look like something out of a children's book when done. But when you are retarded...er...I mean retired, you need something to do to keep yourself out of trouble.
