My first time in Life getting something delivered by UPS

If such a real time map exists, I've never been able to find that with the tracking numbers of the major delivery companies.

Nah--- I've gotten many packages delivered that I could literally look up the track number and see a map of my neighborhood and see in near real time the truck coming. It updates about once every ten seconds.

I could see the truck stopping at other houses then leaving to come to my house next.

And since trucks must make deliveries first to empty themselves before generally picking up packages, my deliveries all generally come between late morning and early afternoon.

In the future you can have your package routed to an authorized UPS delivery center to be picked up by you. Same for Fedex. I have had to pick up certain firearm parts like that.

Walmarts have delivery lockers too.
I didnt realize its a UPS store 5 mins down the street from me. Initally I thought it was coming USPS not UPS. But I could have actually picked it up from the UPS store after work

Why would anyone need two laptops?
They have a big lap? :auiqs.jpg:

LOL. It might. I've just never seen that I guess when I've accessed information via the tracking number. It just says 'out for delivery' so I know I'll get it sometime that day. But again our situation is more naturally secure than apparently is the OPs so knowing exactly when a delivery will arrive isn't all that much of an issue. And if we weren't going to be home and it was something really valuable like a computer or whatever, we have neighbors we can ask to put it inside or take care of it until we can get home.
I never considered getting packages in an apartment or apartment complex. i would think they would just leave it at the management office. To the OP, do you have a management office?

Is it coming today? If not you might be able to get it re-routed there. Again I did that with a Fedex shipment once.

That is certainly the case in my Aunt Betty's former independent living facility and her current assisted living facility. Packages are left with the receptionist at the front desk. But all apartments don't have a nearby management office so there's that too.

Let tell you how unprofessional management office is, How the fuck can someone package get stolen out of a management office? I was thinking if its going to a management office once you arrive there U would be asked to show your ID and then they will go through the packages and bring it back to the desk. Put I think they just have people look for their package like they do here at the apt building. so if that the case then whats the point in getting it sent there?

SO they likely won't deliver and has to come back. That is an opportunity to re-route it to your nearby UPS center. Just thinking of options.
how can I sign for it if they dont attempt to contact me? lol

Therein is a problem! They may leave a note. ON the app there is "leave instructions for driver." There is also a "chat assistant" you can see about re-routing if not delivered.

Just wait until you start having things delivered by tractor/trailer with lift gate service.

You gotta be there then for the signature. It's usually $$thousands on the line then plus a big mess to clean up after they deliver.
I got some scaffolding coming in....that's not gonna be fun. Thousands of dollars, thousands of pounds. All gotta be unloaded and put away. Shingles, siding, wire, and lumber are coming that way too.

Most pickups can only haul 1,000lbs with any consistency. 2,500 and 3500 can but they usually use a trailer instead of a flatbed.

That's when you are getting real deliveries.

Granted....laptops are expensive but small. Just need to have someone babysit the delivery.

You can't unless you make it a point to be home when the package arrives. If it has to be signed for they will ring your doorbell or knock on your door. Every once in awhile we get such a package and that has been how it has been handled. Nobody notified us the delivery was on the way. And if we didn't order the package there was no way to track it.

If Im home then why would they attempt to contact me if I set the notification to text?
