My brother is sitting in an emergency room in Edmonton with a twelve hour wait they just gave him after being rushed to the hospital by ambulance ...

Life-Expectancy_Highest_02-web.jpg

You’d figure tht would translate into shorter life spans (if it were true); not longer ones (which is true). I’m sure there will be a hilarious explanation for why we don’t live as long as these other nations with their ā€œsocialized medicineā€. Can’t wait to hear what it is.

The explanation is not hilarious, and it is equally true to all nations that have this problem in common.
What is it? Absolutely terrible eating habits. From sucking down multiple sodas a day that is equal to between 5-7 pounds of sugar - A MONTH!!!
To eating processed, high in sodium and high in trans fats food every single day with little fresh produce.

We eat bad. So we die younger. Very simple.

And here we have the Canadian immigration council, whatever it is, advertising to foreigners about free healthcare.

Canada is so screwed. Let us not follow them down this path.

I have argued with people for years that the Canadian health system sucks and the left are always defending it and they still will.

Ahh, the ol’ ā€œwe live differentlyā€ gambit.

You obviously haven’t been to an emergency room in the United States.

All these people who want universal healthcare simply do not understand what that means and what will happen when they need emergency care. They will wait 6 months for an appendectomy and be dead by then. Look, these liberal Democrats are the same people who were pushing population controls back in the 1960's. They couldn't get what they wanted like kill off 90% of the world. So, they have tried many things like global warming, planned parenthood and fewer children, climate change and now, Covid19, universal healthcare. Universal healthcare will kill off hundreds of millions of people. Maybe billions.

Except the SOcialized Medicine countries have longer life expectancies, lower infant mortality rates, lower obesity rates.

They beat us on every health metric, and the best your side can come up with is an anecdote about someone who waited for an appendectomy.

And there is absolutely no support outside of far right wing circles for getting rid of the Canadian health care system.

After all, they look at the prices you pay.

What would freak out Americans even more is how these Risky Socialized medicine schemes push off less urgent medical needs, and how quickly they deny coverage.

I heard people complain about the price of Ozempic in America and how much cheaper it is abroad.

But they don't give it to their patients. America used 2/3 of the world's supply of Ozempic.
Ozempic is being used as an easy weight loss drug here in the US

A clear misuse and often dangerous. It can lead to pancreatic malfunction which is very ******* serious

Fascinating story. Could you imagine if it were truthful?

So you’re saying your brother was picked up via ambulance...taken into an emergency room....then taken to the waiting room?

Nope; didn’t happen..
yes, it did. it happens in the States too. I have seen it. If I weren't bed bound it would have happened to me. Instead, I was left in a hallway for 3 hours.

Because it sucks a lot less than ours does, that's the thing.
Speaking personally at being almost 70 years old, I can honestly say that the health insurance I have had in all of my years has ALWAYS been better than the Canadian system and Europe's systems.

Who ever said of getting rid of their system? Most of the morons there and in Europe don't know anything any different than their own system and, of course, they read all of the horror stories and untruths about our system, spread by the left wing medias around the world.

because of how they report their stats.

So, where do you get your news from?

Some random guy on the internet named Tyler Thamster.

Nah...c’mon. For one thing, Hospital staff aren’t that motivated to put someone undergoing trauma into a waiting room after being actually in the ER suite. The OP is total bullshit.

Okay, let's dial it back a bit here on medical treatment.
1. When you go into an actual emergency room (not a doc-in-the-box clinic), you are faced with a triage situation. You are "triaged" based upon both what you tell them and your appearance. The more serious patients, even those that came in after you arrived, go first. For instance, based upon the described symptoms, a likely heart attack (forget Hollywood's depiction of someone having a heart attack) will be taken back as quickly as possible and you, if you have say, a few broken bones will go after him/her. A large laceration that required a tourniquet will go ahead of your flu or broken arm or ankle or leg. If you came in with a bad cold or flu, guess what, you will be waiting a long time.
I went into an emergency room with abdominal pain; after waiting around for an hour, a nurse interviewed me and had a tech come down and draw my blood. After another hour, they came out and rushed me to surgery for a ruptured appendix. The problem with emergency rooms and even the "doc-in-a-box" places, is that too many people go in with colds, mild cases of the flu, headaches, twisted ankles and bruises. Add to that there's a percentage of "drug seekers" looking to get a fix and an assortment of the mentally ill individuals having psychotic episodes.
All this these take hours to wade through.
I have heard that France has an extremely pro-active socialized medicine system that their people were very satisfied with. However, since the influx of millions of migrants it has ruined that system.
Socialized medicine systems are designed with the established population base in mind and grow proportionally with the "slow gradual" growth of the population and aren't meant to handle huge influxes of individuals seeking treatment.
How can the Democrats be so stupid to push more Government healthcare while simultaneously encouraging illegals to flood this nation?

Shoot, it takes 30 weeks just to see a doctor for a non emergency in canada

From your own link:

ā€œThe national 30 week total wait is comprised of two segments. Referral by a GP to consultation with a specialist: 15.0 weeks. Consultation with a specialist to receipt of treatment: 15.0 weeks.ā€

This is hardly any different from the timeframe between my wife’s referral and her knee replacement.

Stupid question.

No one is ā€œencouraging illegals to flood the nationā€. That’s just a Trumpster myth, designed for bigots.

universal single payer health insurance works in 39 out of 40 developed countries, and costs far less.

But, if you want to pay more and get less………

Folks like you are Big Pharmas, the health insurance oligopoly, and the growing hospital and primary care local monopoly’s best friends. You fight to keep prices hight and defend their fat profits and average care!
