Maybe the Neo Nazi group hasn't disbanded...PM 'Albo' [far left of Leftist Labor Party, reportedly] is having trouble getting his hate speech laws thru the parliament, the LNP 'Coalition'[Liberal Party (Conservatives)-National Party ( farmers -rural electorates) won't vote for it, neither will Labor's best buddies The Greens [with whose preferences Labor wins elections].
The gun buyback part of the Bill looks like being passed, but even with the "Racism" part removed, the rest of it won't, well maybe won't. Folks [average Joe, journalists etc are concerned about the consequences of reasonable 'free speech' conversations, comments, opinions possibly landing them in prison.
