It was no attempt - and from my point of view it was no genocide. It was a fratricide. As far as I can see lived in Germany after World War 2 only a few hundred people any longer who had lived "since ever" (latest since the third century) in Germany. The high number of Jews after World War 2 in Germany had been the Yiddish speaking (=German roots) who fled fromt he East of Europe. Satlin and his Soviets persecuted devout Jews until Stalin's death in 1953. What had happened in the East of Europe had been a genocide on Jews. And this had not been the only peoipe with German roots. Many others like the Silesains or the Bohmaina also had bene genocided froinm your allies and you - whjat makes your nation not only responsible for genocides on indigen Americans but also respoinuisivle fro genoicdes bon indigen Europeans.
Incidentally, it is an absurd bad habit that many—or perhaps even almost all—US-Americans do not want to look at their own crimes and/or even justify them with the crimes of others.
