In a Republic, actually
‘Elon Musk, a close ally of President-elect Donald Trump, came out against House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., going forward with a stopgap government funding bill on Wednesday, saying, going so far as to threaten lawmakers who vote for it.

After posting on X earlier Wednesday that "This bill should not pass," Musk escalated his rhetoric, warning that "any member of the House or Senate who votes for this outrageous spending bill deserves to be voted out in 2 years!"

"Please call your elected representatives right away to tell them how you feel! They are trying to get this passed today while no one is paying attention," he implored his over 200 million followers.

He later posted that "No bills should be passed Congress until Jan 20, when @realDonaldTrump takes office."’

Musk as Czar and dictator – it’s going to be a disastrous four years.

**** Musk he is nothing but a barking Dawg.

I support not passing the bill but not for the reasons Musk states. It's no better to pass the debt bill now or when Trump takes office.

They won’t pass this debt bill when Trump takes office. It would be heavily modified and rightly so.

All of a sudden you agree with a Republican spending bill? One that gives Congress a pay raise among other reckless spending? It sure seems like the left is just playing their anti-Trump card again. If Trump agrees with something, you dolts won’t, no matter how beneficial it may be. That is the real disaster in the country.

No it won't. "Heavily modified" is a bit of a trick also. Money for this, this and this, is no better than more for this, this and that.

We shall see, but if Elon and Vivek are serious and Trump is listening, they may actually start cutting. I would also disagree that we are unable to distinguish between good spending and bad spending. Deporting illegals, for example, will cost money in the short term, but will be a gain in the long run. Democrats are too stupid and/or stubborn to realize this, but that is on them.

If it isn't being paid for it's bad spending.

I'm not really interested in addressing your rants. We have always deported illegals so if you are just going to use this as an excuse for rising debt, well....................................

These people get their lies from the echo chamber and all they do is follow their lead.

Elon and Vivek have zero power to change or do the job of the House of Representatives; their style is to threaten and browbeat.

What’s reckless about a pay raise for Congress? It’s a negligible amount of money.

You can bet 87% is for grift.....Hell they even tried grifting themselves a 40% raise.....I suspect that was the basis of the "bipartisanship".

If they had stuck to a COLA rate increase nobody would have cared.

Hell, if they are having that hard a time living in DC then take one of those 7% occupied fed buildings and cobble in some barracks for them and their staff.

Bunk beds next to a hallway bathroom would work. ;)

A ton of it is for grift but what I'm arguing is that isn't going to change under Trump. Maybe this grifter (Musk) gets paid as opposed to that grifter but that's not fixing anything.
