I know this will upset much of the left who of course believe Musk is the spawn of Hitler.
My recommendation would be for members of my side to join X if you haven't already.

Billionaire Elon Musk paid $44 billion to acquire social media platform Twitter, which he later rebranded to X.

The valuation of the platform has declined sharply since the 2022 purchase with Fidelity marking the value down by 72% as of December.

A new report shows a secondary deal for the company has pushed its valuation back to where Musk took the company private.

It never was worth $44 billion.

Everyone knows the real reason he bought Twitter. It wasn't because he wanted to make a profit, it was because of people like yourself.

"Elon Musk acquired Twitter in October 2022, aiming to "help humanity" and ensure it became a platform that promotes free speech, is welcoming to all, and cleans up spam accounts, while adhering to the laws of the land. "

Here's a more detailed breakdown of Musk's stated reasons and goals:

  • Free Speech Advocate:
Musk has repeatedly voiced concerns about Twitter's perceived censorship of conservative viewpoints and has stated his intention to ensure the platform becomes a "digital town square" where all voices are heard.

    • Transparency and Open Source:
Musk has expressed a desire to make Twitter's algorithm open-source, believing it will increase trust and transparency.

  • Combating Spam and Bots:
Musk has stated that he intends to remove spam accounts and "authenticate all real humans" on the platform.
  • "Help Humanity":
Musk has claimed that he bought Twitter to "help humanity" and that he did not buy the firm "to make more money".
  • "Warm and Welcoming for All":
Musk has stated that he wants to make Twitter a platform that is "warm and welcoming for all".

Lol. 'Investors'.

Investors bigging up the value of their investment?

Never!

Social media site X’s valuation has soared back to $44bn, underscoring the sharp turnaround in the company’s fortunes since its owner Elon Musk assumed the role of staunch ally to President Donald Trump.
Investors valued the platform at $44bn in a so-called secondary deal earlier this month, in which they exchange existing stakes in the company, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.
But the swallowers will gulp it down then spew it out for others...

I’m of the opinion he bought it for principle, not to make a killing. He has enough money to last a hundred luxurious lives.
Sure. The principle of unaccountable power.

No argument there.

There sure is a lot of EDS in this thread. :laughing0301:

Twitter's "worth" is whatever someone will pay for it. It's not on the stock exchange, so people aren't buying shares for a certain amount. So... it hasn't reached that value at all.
